Blueberry. Wild Maine blueberry from my FIL's land, to be specific. Also, amaretto peach jam...I'm getting it right by trial and error, but it's still so good!

Pork over onions with apples, brown sugar and homemade cranberry sauce, creamed peas and new potatoes. It's been cold, rainy and miserable here for the last few days, and we needed some serious fall comfort food. Tomorrow, we head to the farmer's market and base our meal off what we find there. Hopefully, the weather will clear up!

I've never gotten the freezer plate test to work for me. I use a spoon, take a shallow scoop of jam and hold it above the pot, tip the spoon and let it slide off. When it stops falling in plops and begins to sheet, then it's ready. It's worked for apple jelly and berry jam, both with no added pectin ((though better with the apple, since it wasn't full of stuff)). I'll be doing my first pectin jam tomorrow ((wild blueberry)) and I'm afraid I'm going to over gel it.

Lobster ice cream in Camden, Maine. I tried it so I could say I did. Yeah. Once. Never again.
A better memory would be sesame ice cream...surprisingly heavy, but pretty good.

I usually mix up some balsamic and olive oil, with a splash of maple syrup, salt and pepper. Very tasty on a greens salad with a sprinkle of feta cheese.

Purim is one of my favourite holidays-- we used to get together in the dorm kitchens and bake up massive quantities of hamantaschen. I'll have to give these a try with apricot this year.

Jelly beans are by far my favourites. I'd make them into simple little nest cookies-- thumb-print cookies rolled in shredded coconut, pressed, and baked. Then decorate with three "nested" jelly beans. This also works well with Cadbury mini-eggs.

Ooh, I would do a beef short ribs and root vegetables dish, with a sweet and spicy maple glaze.

I haven't tried cream cheese, but I'm a huge fan of seed bread, hummus, sprouts and sliced tomatoes. I'll have to give cream cheese a try soon.

They look amazing! I've been trying to get my fiance to stop eating the pre-packaged ones and was on the search for a recipe. This is great.

Definitely dark, sweet and full bodied, although a friend gave me a sample of chocolate cherry coffee, and I've been on the hunt ever since!

It's tradition for our family to wake up late, snack on something like cheese or bread while opening presents, then dive right into making Christmas dinner!

Dark chocolate with caramel, hands down! The darker the better, or else it's too sweet. Dark with cayenne pepper is heavenly, too.

Oh wow. Steak, swiss, grilled tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, onions and garlic on ciabatta. Or, if I were going the sweet route, sweet plum jam and mascapone on sliced brioche. So good!
