I just went to the flagship store and it is absolutely gorgeous. I bought a bowl that I know I could have purchased online, but there is something special about seeing a buying a piece in person. I had a ton of fun at the store (took some great pictures) and my 7 year old nephew had a blast too!

Absolutely gorgeous house tour. Just curious as to what Ikea white lacquer kitchen cabinets you used in your bedroom and did you buy the corian separately or does Ikea sell corian now? Thanks!

My mom bought me one of these as a gift a few months ago and I love it. I water it once a week for five minutes and it looks great in our home.

We have concrete floors in our loft and while I love the look it wasn't sealed enough and has stained over the years. Make sure yours gets really sealed.

A few years ago my sister had her friend who is a photographer come into their home in the wee hours of the morning when the light was filtering into the bedroom and take photographs of herself, husband and 3 year old son. The pictures are beautiful.

I have never lived alone EVER! I shared a room growing up, shared a dorm room and then shared many an apartment with room mates before moving in with my boyfriend now husband. Add a few dogs and a kid later so I officially am never alone. My husband travels a lot and my behavior totally changes when he's gone. I eat what I want which means tons of seafood. I have friends over more often. I tackle tons of house projects. I watch tons of chick flicks and when I use to smoke (years ago) I would sneak a smoke or two late at night while watching a movie. I think I would have loved to have lived alone a bit when I was younger. Now I can't even imagine it.

I should implement the clean as you go more often otherwise I wouldn't be in the argument that I am with my husband about the mess that I made cooking dinner last night.

Love this! Great idea about timing a cup of coffee and then a quick snooze. I'm definitely going to have to try that to keep my with my 18 month old.

Do as much prep work ahead of time. Thats always been my tried and true savior when hosting a holiday dinner or just a dinner party. Its a huge stress saver. A glass of wine or two doesn't hurt either. And I always like to remind myself this and it helps for wedding days too ;) Its not the end of the world if something doesn't end up perfect. Its just a day and everyone will have fun regardless.

Wow! I can't believe my sons painting has ensued this much of a heated discussion. His 15 minutes of fame have definitely been interesting to say the least!

@lindor44 Skye is 16 months and still licks the paint. I just keep a really close eye on him to make sure he doesn't get too much in his mouth. I would just really monitor your babe when he/she is painting. There are some eco paints out there too that are plant based. Maybe you should consider something like that for a younger baby.

@lindor411 we use the Alex Toys Little Hands, Washable Finger Paints. Its actually a really weird paint and I don't think I'd buy it again. Its kind of gel-like and takes forever to dry. I think we might try "Color Splash" finger paints next. They're non toxic and safe for children.

My son Skye is the one who made this painting and I have to say the best thing about it is that I can tell that he's proud of it. He points to it everyday and we tell him you made that and he smiles. Whether its "art" or not it makes us happy and we like it. I think its awesome to let your kids be as creative as they like. It allows them to grow into being creative adults. Thirty years from now we will cherish his painting and hopefully many many more.

I have a rug similar to your rug. Its not as ornate as yours, but the way its made is the same with the felted wool and the embroidery. When I did some research on mine (scored for $5 at a flea market!) I found out that it was from Kashmir. Great score!
