I'll use one flavored tea bag along with the regular black tea to lightly flavor it. I've liked raspberry tea this way. A sample pack of teas can let you try several out and see how strong you want the added flavor. A little cinnamon is nice as well. Some of the simple syrups made with herbs work well, too. I have made one with rosemary that was for a cake but we've ended up using it in lots of things like tea, ice cream and even cookies. Delicious Ways to Infuse Sun Tea? Good Questions |

My husband has a perfect guacamole recipe: 2 ripe Haas avocados and 1 can of Mexican Rotel tomatoes. Mexican Rotel has lime and cilantro in just the right proportion for guacamole. It's that simple and is usually gone as quickly as it can be made. How to Make Better Guacamole: Tips from Two Food Writers |

So much of the After picture is different from the Before-where is the window to the left of the door? Porch seems much deeper than the 1st picture, a second story downspout...all expensive or difficult changes that are making me wonder if this might be the backside of the house. If so, the bright multicolored is probably pretty happy and fun, but I'd reconsider for the front. The colors (I count 5 different ones) seem a bit jarring. I take pics of items I see shopping that I want my husband to buy for himself-"a nice blue linen shirt" so he can decide for himself, he hates to shop for clothes. LOVE. I've done strie in Ralph Lauren's Bronze metallic paint over a chocolate brown base and it resembled brushed metal. I haven't come across many light color versions so this is like a breath of fresh air-very nice and new looking. Adventures In Strié: Toile Color Therapy |

I don't think I could get rid of all of my analog clocks if I wanted...the microwave, the coffee pot, my computer, the thermostat, weather stations all have digital clocks. I prefer analog in my bedroom, it's not as jarring as a backlit digital. My son pestered us to get him a digital alarm and not the 'baby Curious George alarm clock' he had before. I've been wanting this cool clock http://www.amazon.com/Kikkerland-Wheel-Revolving-Wall-Clock/dp/B000CDVYNW/ref=pd_ybh_1 for a while, just to shake things up with another way to tell time. A grown-up home is one that you have once you are grown, psychologically more than just your age. I've been in home full of kids and kid stuff that you could easily see it's a grown up's home-they are the ones in charge, they've got the whole thing going. And then I've been in co-worker's homes-some 30/40 ish people who are intent on having the latest greatest tech gadget and can't find 4 forks in the whole place, have barely half a roll of toilet paper, and are more about where and what they will be doing that weekend away from home. It's not consumerism, it is priorities. A few people get it right in college, more after, and some not till they are 50. And the grown up home can be anywhere-even a trailer. I love going to a pig roast or cochon de lait! So much fun and delicious! A local grocery/caterer may be able to pre-cook the pig and bring it in to your party mostly done to cook the last few hours and tend to it as well as slice it up. Be prepared that some people will be surprised that it is a real pig and a lot of children just won't even try it. A salad, some simple appetizers, lots of good bread, roast vegetables and a light dessert round out the meal. Also-since there will be tons left over, be prepared to give everyone containers to bring home. Mmmmmmm, you are going to love it! Advice for Hosting a Pig Roast?Recipe Questions |

LOVE. It's a perfect, perfect example of what I try and tell my clients about color-bold color doesn't have to be for kids or only big modern spaces, it works equally well in eclectic and traditional rooms as well, and offsets more reserved furnishings and helps take the emphasis off of other bright colors like the pink chairs. This room has it all-darks, lights, brights, solids and patterns and they all dance together. LOVE it truly. Committing to Color: A Playful But Elegant High-Low Living Room |

Martha had a furniture line through Bernhardt years agoa nd I was lucky enough to score a fabulous china cabinet-black with antiqued mirror on doors and in the cabinet back. Best thing I ever did was get a clock/weather station and put it in the bathroom. I check it before I go to bed to see how cold it's gotten outside and then grab an extra blanket if needed, check it in the morning to see what clothes I'll wear, check it for my kids or before I go walk the dog. It's made my life a lot easier. The clock is nice, but I had no idea how much I'd rely on it for the temperature. And just a cheap one from amazon, too. The Most Important Gadget for Your Bathroom |

This has become quite a fad in my town, and no one seems to do much research beforehand. City law doesn't allow roosters, and when new chicken farmers find out they have one, they tend to 'liberate' them somewhere near a park. A few roosters have taken to hanging around a downtown retail area and so we have passionate defenders of rooster rights and others that see them as a nuisance and health hazard. I have seen and of course, heard, one that is living in an empty lot near my house. My family likes him, but this is becoming crazy. And no, nothing bothers a rooster, they can take care of themselves. Real Life Backyard Chicken Advice from Experienced Chicken Owners |

I flavor my homemade oatmeal with either almond or vanilla extract just as its finished, then top with crumbled brown sugar or a chai blend of spices. I'm not a fan of crunch in my oatmeal, the smooth lumpy yumminess is what speaks to me. I make a 4 serving batch and try to make it last more than 2 days. Make Deluxe Oatmeal: 10 Awesome Mix-Ins |

Not in love with either light, really. I wanted to add that Hammerite paint (the 'hammered' finish paint mentioned above) can give a great effect, but only over flat surfaces. I first used it on a large plastic planter and loved it, then I tried it on some wrought iron porch furniture and it really didn't work. Before & After: New Life for an Old Light The Painted Hive |

I once read a tip about pillows-when you can fold them in half and they stay that way, they are 'broken' and need replacing. Mine need it now. I've bought some replacements and it's like I'm goldilocks-they are either too flat or too fluffy, nothing has been 'just right'. When is the Last Time You Replaced Your Pillows & Mattress? A family member had this installed in a walk-in closet where the ceiling was 9'. Made great use of space, she'd store her out of season clothes on it. The arm is usually hydraulic, like a hatchback car's hatch, and smoothly moves when you use the handle to lower it. In the 10 years she had it, it never failed and was fully loaded down with clothes.
