I've always heard that one should use mineral oil for a cutting board because vegetable oils can become rancid. Two of the methods described above use olive oil for cleaning and polishing hardwood floors. Would not the olive oil become rancid? I'd like to try this but I'm afraid.

I display a gourd water jug and soapstone bowl that belonged to my Dad; he got them when he worked in Ethiopia. On my dresser, I have a framed photo of me and a boyfriend I dated for seven years who died young. I also have the ashes of my beloved dog Polly in a metal canister, a lock of her hair in a small painted box, and her collar and tags on a small table in my bedroom. All of these things are meaningful to me.

(Now I have tears in my eyes.)

When I click on House Tour, I get a message that says I need to sign in. I obviously signed in because I can post a comment. The message I get wants my id and password but says it is not a secure connection.

My daughter had a room about that size from the time she was born 'til she was 14. It was a great little space. It did have a window. She loved it.

I hate that housework takes up nearly my entire weekend. I'm recovering from two knee replacement surgeries and I'm basically beat when I get home from work.

The thing I hate the most is trying to figure out where to put little bits of stuff, like binder clips or dead batteries for recycling or whatever. I end up putting them all in a junk drawer and then when it's full, I go through the same thing all over again.

It sounds like you need to also transport yourself, so if you rent a car, you can probably fit a bunch of stuff into the car. Then send a few other boxes by mail. It would be sad, I think, to give up everything you own.

I don't think it can be stressed enough that the "gym" shown in the first photo is a hanging hazard. I don't care what the manufacturer says about "safe" use. Some parents may not read the warning and may be oblivious to the danger.
