My Dad and I christen the turkey with Wild Turkey before stuffing and seasoning it. Then we have a sip or two before starting the day' s cooking.

First cure. Working on my studio apartment. Unemployed so I have the time but not the money. But I am here all day looking for work so it is driving me crazy. De-cluttering is the rule. I just have to figure out uploading pictures.

Love it. I am also a studio dweller- my 470 seems so spacious after seeing 300 sq ft. i wish AT would group house tours based on space. I think they did it in the book. It would be easier to search when I need a quick shot of de-clutter inspiration.

The WaPo and the Washingtonian have so far been my source for "where to shop" so I am very excited that we have our own site

I lived on the second floor beneath a two year old child. I had lived in the apartment for five years and had never heard anyone before. The 2 year old would get up every day at 6 am and run around for about 15 minutes. He would run throughout the day but it was the 6 am wake up run that pushed me. On Sunday afternoons he would play a game where he would repeatedly drop an object over and over and over again. I love children and I wanted to kick this child when I passed him in the hallway. I was completely insane. The parent's solution was to put socks on him. I kept begging management to let them move the open first floor apartment- I figured that was the best solution for everyone.

Very interesting responses. I am a divorce attorney (someone's gotta do it) and had one party insist on about five marital items, one being a salt and pepper shaker set from a prison gift store.
Of course I have a different prespective to the issue of pre-nups. People fight over money. People get divorced still fighting over money. Everybody is happy in love planning a wedding and pledging their lives to each other without ever discussing the reality of every day. Pre-nups force you to look at your daily decisions. If you decide one spouse should stay home with the kids you have made a decision that impacts career, income, health care, retirement and social security benefits for both parties.
In fights over furniture both parties make a list of must haves/wants. For contested items we trade value or use rock, paper scissors when people just can't agree. Just be glad you are fighting over a couch rather than who gets the debt on the upside down mortgage.

I have looked at those rugs a thousand times and the one I really wanted was sold out before I had the courage to take it home. Does anyone know where else they have crewel rugs? I love the intricate designs and the bright colors and I wanted to drape one over the back of my white couch.
