Really beautiful place! It is so cool how you've been able to create the feeling of an open artist loft in a rental. By the way, not to be a creeper or anything, but I viewed your photos and recognized a couple pictures. You teach at ASUC Art Studio! I took a lighting class there with Carmen and really loved it. Your photographs are so quietly beautiful - I'm a huge fan :)

i'm floored-this is the most gorgeous thing i've seen on this site in a long time! you have such a great eye for artwork and accents. the collage by the staircase is so inspirational. and i love the green chair, the bedside lamps and the bold darkness. what a well-executed sense of macabre humor. love. it.

I think this is definitely an extreme example, but most people in big cities in China live in tiny accommodations simply because there's more people than space. What Americans don't realize is that there's a huge lifestyle difference as well--Chinese people spend most of their time out of their apartments, or pods, and usually only use their place to sleep. Their restaurants, bars and other communal places don't close at 8 PM on weekday, like they do in suburban America.

I stared at the staircase for a while (I guess you have to walk down the middle?), and then decided I really like it. The high ceilings and color palette do wonders for the living room and the artwork is amazing. Where can I find those artists?
