Mmmm. I am amazed that thick cotton flannel sheets have not made the list here. Not the pathetic threadbare ones in most stores. I go to Lands End, Company Store, and Overstock and always choose the thickest ones. If the weight is not given, I don't take chances. Look for "ultimate" and other hyperbolic adjectives. The only drawback is that they will not become heirlooms: After a several years they wear out, but the pleasure is worth the price. Winter and summer my family loves them. For winter I combine them in winter with down comforters. In summer, they are cool with just the thinnest blanket. My guests feel pampered.
