I live in Amsterdam..my studio is 2.15 METERS wide, and 12 meters long. It's horrible to decorate..and that's an understatement.

@rayma

Come on, don't be such a whiney little baby, she's trying out; she's not the editor here nor are you. If you're so upset with the writing then you try out. 'Although the house feels like it's always been here' is a good scentence. No, of course it wasn't always there but when you read it you get a sense of an old 'antique' house.. she's bringing across a feeling which writing is supposed to do.

Photos were great, I liked the new compositions. Normally a cabinet is always photographed from the front (and I mean always) but you took the picture from the side. Also the stairs and the first shot were very pretty. Complements the house.

Also, as one of the biggest blogs worldwide; where is the editor.And why does every applicant needs to be put on the spotlight? It's an invitation for people to make hatefull comments on the article. I could do without.

Ha, I live in one! Here in Amsterdam they made 1000 homes for students because there's a big housing defficiency! You have a kitchen, bathroom and shower and two big windows with doors on the ends of the container.

Lovely, and indeed, very Dutch. Ingrid, you don't happen to work for 101 woonideeën do you? ;)

I moved 8 times in the last year and a half..(being a student in Amsterdam is fun, but the housing is horrible!)

So I've cried a lot..but never because I loved it so much. Always because i HAD to go (temporary room) and once because my landlord didn't pay his bills so (because my house was part of his house) I had to move thesame day.

Right now I live in a great appartment..which I can stay in for years to come..so I've made it my home. Obviously I still feel 'the-moving-bug' from time to time but when I leave here I'll cry because I will miss it so much. :)

There is a new store on the Overtoom in Amsterdam. It's called Friday Next and they have design furniture, plus, you can eat the best sandwiches there!

Neef Louis, Strand West and Loods 5 are good too! In the magazine '101 woonideeën ' they often feature new and good stores!

Wow! That's a great use of space..I'm a student from Holland (we don't have dorms here, we have to find an appartment or a room in one of the student houses ourselfs.) and one of the lucky ones I may add..Here in Amsterdam you don't have a lot of rooms and i moved eight times in the last year and a half. That being said: my room never looked this good! Right now I live in in apartment of 30m2 -still very small- and even that doesn't look as nice. You are an inspiration my friend! This week I'm changing everything so for next year; meet your competition ;)

To all the naysayers; This is the place where he lives, he made a great home out of it and this is as much an appartment as any other! Don't be winy little babies because you spend $4000 on coffeetables and he still manages to make his home look better. Jealousy isn't a pretty color.
