I think it's all about balance too. My kindergartener rarely plays video games, which he thought was completely typical until he started school and discovered some of his friends play video games daily. Now I allow him some video games and tv time but usually only after something educational. He happens to be advanced academically so I'm not as strict with limiting screen time for him. He naturally prefers to read or play board games. My three year old, on the other hand, would happily plop in front of the tv for hours if I let him. He definitely watches more tv than his brother did at his age but at the same time, we try and read to him and play with him before tv time.

I don't necessarily think its the stuff that is stolen that bothers people as much as the invasion of your home. The thought that some stranger broke in and rifled through your stuff is what is the most disturbing, and the thought the they or someone similar coud do it again when you are home and put your family in danger.

I don't care about the stuff. My freinds six year old kid walked into his house with his mom and asked why his bedroom was turned upside down. It turned out it was a neighbor.

I have a lot of grey rooms in my house. I find the colour so calming. I keep things looking warm by using some warmer tones, an ivory and chocolate brown rug, some modern satin brass elements, some neutral silks and textured Mongolian Lambswool pillows.

I love the arctic pear chandelier too. Now I just need a shedload of money and huge ceilings to install one.

This was much better than episode 4 where they did the manhattan townhouse. Having said that, when I saw this episode I wondered how much of the budget went to the artist who did all the chalk drawings and wondered if the homeowners would have preferred less art and perhaps a headboard?

I grew up in England in a much smaller house than the 80 yr old tudor I now live in (almost 3000 sq.ft a block outside of Philadelphia). The UK size comes from newer homes built in London or within an hours drive of London. Outside of London they build them bigger!
