I noticed a round pendant light in the hallway, can you tell me where it was purchased? BTW, love the house! I used to live in Logan Square and I do miss it.

Wow, this is exactly how I want my house to look like, if I only had the talent. I love the second staircase by the kitchen.

Lovely kitchen but I'm more interested in the pear and chocolate scone! Will she share the recipe?

I love America's Test Kitchen's cookbook and their beef stew recipe is my standard. Instead of adding potatoes to the stew, I make mash potatoes instead and dump the beef stew over it. It's so good.

One morning my 2 year old son decided to open the fridge, take out the vegetable stock and pour it all on my couch. Not on the kitchen floor where it would be easier to clean but on my couch. I know it's not a kitchen mess but it started from the kitchen.

I tried the oven method a few weeks back and no more skillet for me! It was so simple and mess free.

I'm sorry but the finished cookie doesn't look as yummy as the ones I make from scratch.

I'm Chinese American and my husband is not. My mother stayed with us when we had our first child and one night, she made dinner. We must have not had much in the refrigerator so she made one of her standards when I was grewing up - iceberg lettuce cooked with soy and oyster sauces. My husband loved it! He said 'who knew lettuce could be so delicious!'

My husband just made one for the kids using one of his hankies (a clean one, of course).

I didn't realize this was regional to Boston as well. It's my go to bread when I want to make a meatball sandwich. Toast it with some melted provolone cheese. Mmmmm....

I grew up eating Chinese (cantonese), family style. Now as an adult with an Irish American husband and two small children, I cook eclectically. We may have Thai one night, chicken pot pie the next night, spaghetti the night after and so on. I do cook Chinese occasionally but more stir fry and rarely family style.

For a quick and delicious meal, I cook ground beef with peas and onion, add some soy and oyster sauce for flavor. Serve it with rice and for added richness, add a fried egg on top. Yum!

I grew up eating oxtail. I loved sucking the little cartilage off the bones. Yum. My mom just braised it with cans of whole tomatoes and carrots and we eat it with rice.
