a delicious fruit :) There are lots of trees with too many ripe loquats on the branches, so when they're in season you finish with the streets full of them.

I agree with @Fnnkybutt: freezing the fruit is much better. The flavor remains stronger. If I need to add some liquid, I only add juice, usually lemon (it removes the "green" taste of green smoothies).

@apartmenttherapy47: because banana just taste great in smoothies. I agree that maybe fruit smoothies could be done without it (they're sweet enough on their own) but for green smoothies, (frozen) banana and mango is what works better.

My favorites are asparagus and corn on the cob, although I still prefer to eat them with knife and fork. It's an habit: I even ate pizza (when I was not vegan) that way!

Tarts with lots of juicy, delicious fruits are in general wonderful for summer. Chocolate cakes are great (who doesn't love them?) but when the temperatures begin to raise, you feel like indulging youself with something "lighter" (maybe not in calories, but at least in taste).

I still have to make my apricot tart this year. Today I did an upside-down cake with pears :D My fruit tart from last year: orange glazed plum cake

I discovered green smoothies a couple of years ago. At the beginning, I found them awful. The problem was that I didn't know how to make them, and used wrong veggies-fruit proportions.

Mango is certainly a winner, and can change the flavor of any greens: you won't barely notice that you're eating them! On the other hand, I've found that apples are not the best fruits for green smoothies. Berries, bananas and acid fruits like kiwis are great too.

I still have to try adding oatmeal :)

Wow, never thought about this. Usually I add morning cereals to my green smoothies (I LOVE green smoothies :D) but oats is an even better and more nutritious idea ^^
Thanks, I'll try it soon :)

I love hummus :) As a vegan, is one of the best options for sandwiches (I like salad leafs, but I need something more consistent for lunch).

I like to add sweet paprika like @heather77 suggested :D

We do Russian Sauerkraut at home, and as @bubble explained it doesn't need water at all. But we leave it at least for a week, usually longer, and after it it keeps like a month in the fridge (or more!).

Actually, the real Russian Sauerkraut must ferment for many weeks, and no days, and it's softer than the German version (or at least the one I tried). You can find it in every Russian market, and although the homemade taste great, the one that is sold (usually by old ladies ^^) have something different that I like more.

It's perfect in summer, with some roasted potatoes on the side.

I suppose the almond mayo tastes great, but I don't know why the tofu version appeals more to me.

I love eating breakfast for lunch :) I do more often in summer, when I enjoy a lot a green smoothie. Actually, I cane eat green smoothies both for breakfast and lunch. One of my favorites this Bloody 'Green' Smoothie with pears....the beets give an amazing color to it.

More examples of breakfasts I ate for lunch are this Vietnamese Dessert Pudding with White Beans and Sticky Rice in Coconut Milk and this Crème of buckwheat.

I also like doing the opposite, and eat lunch for breakfast :P

For me, it's all about exercice. I have always liked sports and I have been a runner (not a professional one: just as a hobby) since I was ten or eleven years old.

I've noticed that if I train as I usually do and I follow what people would call a "normal" diet, I loose a lot of weight. If I eat as I always do (a healthy but with dense foods diet, like nuts, dry fruits and beans), but don't exercice I gain weight (which is logical). If I train and eat enough I maintain it.

Because I love cooking and enjoying my creations, I try to adapt the amount of exercice, and not the food: if I eat more, I just train longer. And I love exercicing anyway, so it's a good way to stay fit :)

If I had to chose one, I would take the protein packed stews :) Grains lentils, hummus, noodles...taste great, but nothing beats a good, hearty and filling stew.

My old favorite is the Gypsy pot (chickpeas, potatoes, pears, pumpkin and a "sofrito" http://www.talesofaspoon.com/2009/04/gypsy-pot-recipe/) because you get a balanced meal in one course, it's easy to reheat, tastes even better the second day and it's also delicious cold (perfect for summer!).
