I had the same issue. The landlord installed tension poles for curtain rods, and they are working out fine. An example is http://www.umbra.com/ustore/product/238511/c005/coretto_tension_rod.html The only downside I've found that I could not hang super-heavy curtains on them. I've hung sheers and curtains with no trouble, but my heavy roman shades don't work. How to Hang Curtains Without Making Holes in the Wall? I love this apartment - there's a definite sense of personality. I really like the lamp in the living room, the one with the fiberglass shade. I've been looking for something like that. If you don't mind, could you please share your source for the shade and/or lamp? I loved seeing how you were able to use the loft area in your apartment. I have one that I'm not using as I'm waiting on a ladder. I was trying to figure out how your cat gets up there ...
