We just call it Puerto Rican eggnog, and while I do not like the traditional variety, I love this!

I think they will have a REALLY hard time when it comes time to resell a home that has a kitchen with NO upper cabinets! They are going to be advised to install them to be able to sell their home!

I did the same thing yesterday... BUT with a beautifully glazed pot... and I wanted to cry. BUT I have to say I kept all the pieces, and will probably use them in a mosaic someday... so I can enjoy them all over again, in a mosaic so they "live" all over again!

I would think to drizzle them with either some chocolate sauce, chocolate liqueur, or the such, and then use them as a layer in a trifle... maybe with a batch of pudding, or cheesecake filling, add some crunchiness with some crumbled cookies like oreos, top with whipped cream... and...
VOILA!

I have been lucky enough to travel a couple time to the same villa in the Tuscan countryside. Their cooking is done by the local women from the neighboring village and they use as much as they can out of their garden.

I have been invited into their kitchen a number of times and I am always amazed at their devil may care attitude regarding herbs... they use LOTS of them and they use pretty much what is ready and available at the time. They mix and match as your recipe did, and they both chiffonade them as well as chopping finely, depending on the application.

I am looking forward to grabbing an assortment of mushrooms and trying your recipe this weekend!

Thanks!

Cast iron skillets are GREAT and as we that use them know, the older they get, the better they get! If you are EVER at a garage sale and see a Griswold cast iron buy it immediately! They are highly prized!

It reminded me of a party I went to years ago... where you ended up eating what the numbers you drew dictated, and even your silverware had them... long story shorter... the centerpieces were celery stalks & if you weren't lucky enough to have drawn a utensil of some sort with that course you used... you got it, the celery! LOL, oh the silliness of youth.

YOUR use of the veggies for a centerpiece are more practical and I like the idea of the dipping dishes for each guest as this will insure that it really does get eaten! Obviously the guests will follow the example of the host too!

It is up to the host to find out if her guests have an special dietary restrictions or plain just hate some types of food!

Whether I am hosting a picnic, dinner party, or overnight guests I always ask if there is anything I should keep in mind. Some of my friends simply cannot eat onions.. in anything! My D-I-L is a vegetarian so I am cognizant of that. But everyone should be cognizant of asking their guests their preferences so that visit is the best it can be!

At Cookbook Club 101we try to bring you recipes and ideas to cover ALL the bases!
