Your place is great! I personally like neutrals, but in that place, with so much light coming in ,you could go with a strong accent colour. I must say, the place looks beautiful as it is, but if you want to make it more daring, my suggestion is that you should pick a colour that works with the frames at your windows.

this looks great! but i think you can make it even better. my suggestion is to paint the doors white, it will brighten up the place, and make a stronger contrast with your accent dark wall. Also I think 3 colours for the walls in the same room is too much, the blue walls you should paint them in the same colour as they are in your dining area, which, by the way, looks gorgeous! love the round mirror and the two purple lamps, you should use more purple in your place, it would look great, maybe some pillows or a throw/blanket for the couch... Don't replace the doors...My suggestion is to put wallpaper on them. You can pick a nice, retro and colourfull pattern that would look great. I did the same thing with a door in the my apartment, also in the kitchen area and it turned out pretty good... Good luck and we want to see the "after" picture:) Materials to Modernize this Area? Try to paint it, i did the same thing - just yesterday:) -and it turned out pretty good... but first i tried to get rid off the old paint as much as possible, and then a aplied a white bright polar white...i think this is the first step, and later when you start decorating the place you can put a shelf and put books or plants on it...good luck! I like most the second option from the ones above, the one with the tiny shelf beside the bed... Congrats! I like the daring colours in the living room and i have to say your kitchen looks so welcoming.. i love the upper cabinets there... those shelves make the difference from an ordinary arrangement..
