We are also ikea highchair fans! it's so easy to clean and transport. we even just took it camping (which i wouldn't dream of doing with an expensive, heavy, wood high chair) and it still looks brand new. without the tray it slids up nice to the table if your little one likes to join the party. ikea sells a padded insert that you blow up like a pool toy! we used the from ages 6-9 months with our daughter and after that she seemed fine w/o it. Don't stress too much. When I was a baby my mom said I used to veg in front of soap operas for hours at a time. Not only do I despise them now as an adult, but I was an honor student all the way through college and I watch very little TV now. I really think as parents we worry so much about the "weekly milestones" that we foreget the big picture. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | How Much TV do They Watch? |

For those of you who love BIG dogs large I have to recommend French Mastiffs. We did a lot of research on kid friendly dogs prior to getting our French Mastiff, Ester, and she has proven to be totally amazing with our daughter (Opal) who is now 5 months. I never have to think twice about Ester bothering Opal. With no training, Ester knows the difference between her toys and Opal's, I can put Opal on Ester's back for cute pics (while still holding Opal) and Ester barely registers that she's there, when Opal is on her floor gym Ester lays right next to her and keeps a protective eye on her. Overall Ester has been effected very little by the new addition to our family. She smells Opal every once in a while, but that's about it. Also, they are beautiful, majestic, sweet dogs...when I am out walking the baby & dog, I get way more comments on the dog! Apartment Therapy - Top Six: Kid-Friendly Breeds |
