Love the sofa! If it were my room, I would repaint the walls a soft white to really let the wood work shine as well and let the pattern of the sofa really pop (but I've always been one to shy away from color). As for a rug, I would go with something solid - maybe a flokati or some other neutral toned rug to balance the coffee table and sofa. Good luck and enjoy your space!

I second (or maybe third, not sure how many may have said this), but cooking chicken breasts under the broiler is relatively quick and the chicken comes out really moist. I usually flip the breasts halfway through so that both sides can brown evenly.

I agree with the comment about using a damp washcloth on the furniture. I use a damp microfiber cloth to remove pet hair from my sofa, and then use a hand vacuum to get the rest.

I just purchased a new vacuum yesterday to try and help with the hair on my hardwood floors. I haven't tried it yet, but hopefully it will beat sweeping!
