I live in Chicago Gold Coast and my studio is about the same size as well, but I chose not to divide it up. I love the open space and the fact that everything is where I want them to be. Help Dividing Bedroom from Living Area in Studio? Good Questions |

I found my first apartment on the Miami Herald Classified section...I didn't tell my parents I was moving out until I signed the lease, they were so sad that I was moving out. Ummm, did I mentioned I was 24? Yes, I was 24 graduated out of Graduate Nursing School yet, they wanted me to still live at home. It was a beautiful Lake house in Miami Shores near Biscayne Boulevard, $1050 per month...gorgeous little place, which I've only stayed in for about 10 months because I had found a better job in Chicago with the University of Chicago Medical Center. When I arrived in Chicago, I stayed with a friend for 3 months while paying her $400 per month. Later, I'd find my teeny tiny studio apartment in Gold Coast on apartment.com for $1325, I was basically paying for location not for space. It was very accessible and easy to get around BUT the space was tiny...I had to rent an extra space to store my shoes and some boxes. I've decided to move after my lease was over and found a place on craiglist...it was cute but not as accessible as my Gold Coast apartment. As of today, I am still looking for a better, cheaper Chicago apartment, I've yet to find any. I'm still looking for that gorgeous Lake House in Chicago ;-) How Did You Find Your First Apartment? |

I'm right on the border of Lakeview and Lincoln Park (Surf and Sheridan to be exact) and my rent is $1225 for a small one bed. I thought I was getting a great deal until I've found out that this place is infested with roaches and now I'm stuck with the 1 year least. I should have stayed in my tiny studio in Gold Coast for $975, it was gut rehab and oh so very cute :-( Affordability Report: Rents in Chicago Domu |

Ummm...sorry but no, I will not open the door for anyone even if your wife was having a baby but I'd call for help. I live in Chicago Gold Coast and STILL WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR FOR MY OWN MOTHER unless she told me that she was coming ahead of time. Sorry but this is the world that we live in, one can never be too careful. Plus, who ask for a cup of sugar in this day and age? there's a corner store everywhere that you go, even if you are in the suburbs you'll find a white hen pantry. When Do You Open Your Front Door? |
