Apartment Therapy New York | Guess The Cleaning Tool?

Thanks to everyone who gave us a thumbs up. Just to answer some of the questions:

The Knife holder can be found easy on the internet. Just google Ex-husband knife holder :)
Actually, the Espresso machine came after the kitchen wall was painted.
Yes, the panels slide. I made those and tout of plywood and they used to have Shoshi paper in the. An unfortunate vacuum cleaning accident tore the paper and I got these peg panels cut.
I collect the chrome washing machine insides, used them to house large plants. The cats enjoy them so I decided to convert them for their use.
I found the stackable shelves on the internet but I cannot remember where I found them.

About DIY skills - I just go ahead and do it and hope for the best and I really enjoy doing it. I have HGTV on all the time (hence the Lowe's add on TV - pure coinsidence) and learn from them and by doing some research on the internet as well.

Again, thanks for checking it out and voting.

I am doing this right now on my concrete floor. My style is industrial modern so it works well withy my furniture (all white).
I remove old tiles from the floor and initially hoped that the concrete would be perfect underneath to stain it. Was not the case. I looked into epoxy but found out it could "yellow". Si, I cleaned and scraped the concrete as much as possible. Added a layer of plasterweld for bonding. Added a layer of white primer and a layer of white outdoor white porch paint. I am letting this dry now and the next step is to add 1 layer of high-gloss polyurethane. Even without the poly applied as of yet, it looks great.

definately white, but not the style that you have in the mock-up. Keep the original style but change the color

darkndark grey - almost charcoal. Would make it modern looking.

Love this apartment. I love minimalism and I appreciate the clean lines. My apartment is all white, cold, and I also don't have much "stuff" - it's all hidden in cabinets.
Fabulous apartment. Love the knife block :)

very simple.....get some wax paper and an iron. Put the wax paper on the wax, turn on the iron (non-steam) and put the warm iron on top of the wax paper. The warm iron will melt the wax and the waxpaper will absorb the wax.
I use this method every time candle wax drips.

Don't turn on the heat very high, especially since your are dealing with velvet. Also, dont push the iron around. Press and lift....
