HandBags! I have so many of them. I often give away handbags so that I can acquire more. I truly have a weakness for them! LOVE!

YOUR house gorgeous! But the rest of the houses look really bad in comparison. Too bad you couldn't get together with them and have them all paint their houses. Like I said, I love your house, but it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Ha! Some of your comments about Walmart are funny, you sound like my husband! :-). Shopping for me is relaxing (when I have money)...so I can usually just tune everybody out and just wander the aisles.

I had to post. When I lived in NY, it was hard to find a bargain and a safe area for my family and I. We wanted to live in Manhattan because it was close to church, work, family and amenities GALORE! Our first apartment was a 1 bedroom, lots of closet space-but in Yonkers for $1025. Our second apartment was a one bedroom in upper Manhattan for $1100. Our third apartment was in upper Manhattan-a studio at $996. We thought we were getting a deal! We moved to Massachusetts a few months ago and just got an apartment- one bedroom, beautiful, quiet area, large, parking RIGHT infront of our apartment and at $725 per month- it's the best steal.

HI,

I've learned that you can make ANYTHING work. It may be some financial contraints holding you both back from getting a bigger place, and that's fine, cause you can really make it work. When you arrive, spend the first week purging and cleaning the apartment. Then spend a little money and paint it a refreshing color. Only put things back into the apartment that you absolutely need. Enjoy this time in your life. Good Luck!

I can handle the pictures of the kitchen, but the bathroom-there are no words. I wouldn't/couldn't live there.

Ha! Always! I sneak things into the apartment all the time. My husband is not the decorating type, so I am usually the one who does it all anyways. He will come home and there will be new art on the wall, different curtains hung and a new clock put up. He just looks and shakes his head now, no need to argue, just accept it.

Besides the multiple pictures with the tenants posing in them, I really like the space. It looks lived in. I don't think it 's overly clutter-ly or overly bland. I love the brick walls, kitchen and the bathroom, very nice, very beautiful.

MOVE! It is really worth it. I just moved about 10 blocks from my house and we are so much more happier.

Would You Move Just One Block?
Good Questions

1.Start packing all the things that you wont be using within two weeks.
2. Start using any food that you have left in cupboards and freezer
3. Plan what you want to give away, throw away, keep (should be done at least a month before)
4. Start doing laundry (if needed) there's nothing more depressing than bringing dirty laundry to your new place.
5. Start asking people for help.

5 Things To Do 2 Weeks Before You Move

We gained access to our apartment 5/1 but didn't move in till 5/15. We were able to go in ahead of time and clean the kitchen and bathroom and set up our new bed. A LIFE SAVER! We had also been bring clothes, dishes and pictures etc over for the two weeks prior so that our move was not that overwhelming. I definitely say set up your bedroom and at lease clean your bathroom.

The Unpacking Order: What Rooms to Unpack First

I'm definitely an "unpack now" type of gal. I like to know where things are...but I will wait to put things up on the walls or get curtains until I am absolutely in love with them.

YES! That looks like something I'd do. If I didn't have a full time and a part time job, I would of done this.

I really like it! As somebody who lives with her husband in a 415 sq apartment in Manhattan, I get your apartment and it inspires me. I am always concerned that a lot of furniture will make my apartment seem too cluttered and busy, but you have a lot of furniture and things and you've managed to make it look great! I like the ikea storage unit, it really disappears into the wall.

Wow! Just loved it! The colors are so bold and inviting. Very cool. This seems insignificant, but I love the clear tv stand. In a small space it is important to have some clear furniture, it brings less visual busy-ness.

I use a plastic shower curtain on the inside and a polyester one on the outside. The plastic smell doesn't bother because it fades, and it makes me *think* that it's clean. They are inexpensive and if you get a weighted one it doesn't smother your body.

I try and not leave the any dishes in the sink overnight. This doesn't always happen, a cup or two gets left, but I try. We don't have a dishwasher.
