I own the Klipsch earbuds mentioned above, and found that they're awful for flying. It's not just the Klipsch, but in-ear headphones in general. They seal your ear canal, preventing the equalization of air pressure during ascent and descent in a flight. I found it incredibly uncomfortable, and found myself having to take out the earbuds every 10 or 15 minutes to pop my ears.
It finally got to the point where they caused more pain than they were worth, and I went the rest of the flight (a good 10 hours) without them.
So, I'd recommend sticking to around-the-ear headphones for flights.

I also have the black version of this on my 15". Love it. It's a bitch to get off, however. And you will have to take it off to clean the computer pretty often, as the perforations allow for dust and debris to collect.
I took it off a couple weeks ago for a cleaning, and my 6 month old MacBook Pro looks like it just came out of the box.

I am director of operations for a summer camp. I keep track of attendance, maintain our FileMaker database, design playbills, photograph students, videotape performances, edit the videos, and design the DVDs. This week I have the following items in an STM medium backpack:

• 2011 15" MacBook Pro Antiglare
• 2007 13" MacBook
• iPad 32GB WiFi (1st Gen)
• 320GB External HD (Time machine backup for 24" iMac)
• 2x 8GB iPod Nano touchscreen for instructors
• Sanyo VPC-FH1 1080p camcorder to record performances
• Samsung TL500 (EX1 overseas) 10MP Point & Shoot
• HTC Inspire 4G (office line)
• iPhone 4 (personal line)
• 85 Watt power adapter for laptops
• 8GB Flash Drive
• 3 or 4 30 pin to USB cables for iPods/iPhone
• Klipsch in-ear headphones
• 2 or 3 iPod headphones
• Clear 4G portable hotspot

I only carry the 15" MacBook Pro when I'm working on designing playbills, so about 1 week per month. Normally it stays at home - away from clumsy children.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work :)

I use my iPhone in my rabbit connected to the aux jack in the glovebox. I got sick of using the onscreen controls distracting me, so I got one of these (http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Headphone-Adapter-Remote-Shuffle/dp/B002K4GBEI) to give me handsfree control. My next plan is to get a jabra clipper (Bluetooth headphone adapter with speakerphone and controls) that will connect to the aux cable and allow me to keep my phone in my pocket instead of my cupholder.

True story:
The diorama of the international space station in the texas city store (down the road from NASA JSC) is nearly as accurate as the mock up found in the training center of JSC.

Don't forget Uncommon! They don't have a lot of info on their new designs yet, but the 3g/3gs cases are sweet.

As the coffee technician in my house, I would always try to pulse the blade grinder by waving it wildly around in the air... Never worked out too well.
We picked up a cuisinart burr grinder from bb&b for around $50 about two years ago. It works reasonably well, creating some dust in the grinding process (it sticks to the side of the collection bin due to static cling, so it usually doesn't end up in the coffee). It also produces about the same noise level as 12 lawnmowers, but it's only for about 30 seconds each morning...
Recently I started using a pur filter jug (it stays on the counter) for the water, and the taste has improved dramatically!
I completely agree with buying African coffee, whole foods tends to have a pretty good selection of that... My favorite is the Ethiopian blends. My wife prefers a french roast for the stronger flavor.
