Wow, I didn't realize everyone hates benches! I grew up on them and loved them and my mom has since replaced that table with a new one that also has benches. To be fair though that table is in the kitchen and she also has a more formal set-up in the dining room. I think benches are perfect for kids. Should I Buy Dining Benches Instead of Chairs? I loved the portable swing that I borrowed from my parents for my first child. I couldn't have lived without it and had no complaints. The only downside was it only ran on batteries and I had to replace them quite often because she used it so much. I'm not sure if full-size swings run on batteries as well, but I wish it had an optional wall plug. Other than that I would highly recommend it! I don't know what it is but whenever I make a cake mix from scratch they always turn out very dense and I don't really like that when I'm used to boxed cake mixes. Recently I've been using a doctored-up boxed cake mix and it is always extremely moist and delicious. Perfect for a novice! This blog is especially great. I used the fisher price rock and play sleeper for the first 6 months! It was nice how it was portable for travel and I kept it next to my bed. She slept in it as long as I swaddled her and even when she was able to roll over it had a three point harness to keep her secure. Once she outgrew the swaddle I moved her to the crib in her own room. Stylish Bassinets for Every Budget |

I have had this diaper bag for almost a year now and I love it. If you like the style then don't hesitate to buy it. I agree that many bags could work as "diaper bags" but if you like it, why not? I would definitely recommend this diaper bag to my friends. Charlie Unisex Diaper Bag Daily Find |

My in-laws are extremely guilty of this. My husband has tried everything, buying his dad a new fancy knife for his birthday, buying them a sharpener, sharpening them himself when he goes down there... but they're always dull. His mom throws them in the dishwasher and says she prefers dull knives so she won't cut herself. It's crazy! This thanksgiving I was watching her pare an apple and she was so close to cutting herself about 5 times that I had to leave the room because she wasn't listening to me. I'm not the type to judge anyone, but I was literally shocked. How To Cope With Your Parents' Dull Knives |

There is a famous Christmas Disappointment story in my husband's family. His sister Ashlee (now 21) wanted a Barbie Jeep for Christmas. The kind you ride in! They're really expensive and it wasn't possible that year so her parents wrote her this nice letter from Santa saying that he was sorry she couldn't have one this year but if she was "really good" maybe she could next year. She was slightly crest-fallen but got over it quickly. Once opening presents was all wrapped up Ashlee ran outside to play and the first thing she saw was the neighbor girl driving in her brand new Barbie Jeep! Ashlee ran inside, burst into tears, and said "Sarah must have been REALLY good this year!" My husband said his parents felt terrible and the next year she got the newest model! We all laugh about it today... classic! The Original Cabbage Patch Kids (and Other Christmas Morning Disappointments) |

My father keeps 2 beehives in his yard and the only place I see a significant amount of bees is pretty much only a 6 foot radius around the actual hive. If I were a neighbor I probably wouldn't even be aware there was a hive in the next yard. Just putting this out there for those afraid of being stung, its pretty safe. I've been making a version of this for a few years now. Homemade frozen yogurt (1 container plain greek yogurt, 1/2C sugar) bananas, sometimes strawberries, granola and *the best part* just a drizzle of bittersweet chocolate. That really makes you feel like you're eating a treat for breakfast. But really, out of orange rolls, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake... a real sundae for breakfast wouldn't be that crazy! I second the thrifted books option. I can find all sorts of regular and board books at thrift stores and garage sales. I guess if you have a larger collection of at home books then you won't need to check out so many and risk the damage. I especially love looking for board books because they always seem so expensive in the stores. Protecting Library Books from Destructive Toddlers Good Questions |

Three minutes is really short when you are trying to edit down so much footage! Any longer though and people will lose interest. I find that it is easier to just choose either photos or videos only, that way you automatically cut out half of your stash. I recommend videos because you will have SO MANY cute photos you won't be able to decide. Plus you should leave a photo on the screen for 3-4 seconds and that ends up eating a lot of your time.
