The point of the post isn't about hidden televisions. It's about how to incorporate them in to the decor. Which is what the words of the article say.

I went overboard with the presents the first Christmas I had two children. It was awful. Neither one was really interested in opening so many presents and it made the day stressful.

We scaled way back the next year (luckily they were still really young and didn't care/notice). We did the something want/need/wear/read for a while but now that they're older (12 and 9), we don't do that so much.

I do think the key is to make sure your children are grateful for what they receive instead of expectant of bigger and better every year. We focus more on family traditions now like cinnamon rolls for breakfast using my best china, christmas presents opened on christmas eve (always new pajamas), and adopting airmen who can't make it home for the holidays.

I don't get why people expect a robotic vacuum cleaner to do a better job than what they do but are unwilling to prep their space for it.

I have the not pet version of the Neato. I adore mine. Yes, you need to pick up the cords and whatever on the floor, but you have to do that with a normal vacuum too. Or at least you *should* unless you're just cleaning the middle of your floor?

My Neato goes back to its charger on its own. I have to empty the canister mid cleaning, but my downstairs area is about 1300 sq ft.

My dogs hates the neato when I first bought it. Now they don't even move for it. They sit and watch it clean the house. It's fairly comical. I like that the dog's fur no longer tumbleweeds across the floor. It doesn't do as good a job of what I would do, but I also don't clean as often as it does.

I think you should add the "Neato" vacuum to the list. It's pretty spiffy :) It works well on my hardwood floors and doesn't scratch them to pieces the way the Mint did when it found a pebble.

I serve a random assortment of foods and invite others to bring their favorite dish. We put it all on the buffet and people take what they like. If they're super picky, I always say they can help themselves to whatever is in the fridge or cupboards if they'd like to make themselves something else. If you're close enough to me that you're eating at my home, you're close enough to me to help yourself to my kitchen and not be offended by the offer.

This led to a vegan friend cooking every time she comes over. Which is GREAT because I get to try new to me things and she knows she'll get something she can eat. It works for both of us.

I have a big list of things that I think I can't eat but I almost always try them at someone else's house. Most of my friends are understanding of my food issues and don't make a big deal out of me not being able to eat something because they appreciate me trying.

I too don't think $250 a pop is affordable. Like kellieinCA, I purchased mine at overstock and love them. I have six around a 6 foot round dining table that I painted. They look spiffy and I haven't found them to be uncomfortable. I host a get together every Friday night and so far, no one has complained about the chairs either (and they're the sort that would tell me honestly if my chairs were uncomfortable).

I think you did a fabulous job CA. I love that you put things that meant something to your husband in the room you share with him instead of not allowing him a say in how his house looks. Good job!

I have a Kuerig and love it. The husband and I drink different hot beverages and this makes it easy for us to prepare them. I love the reusable filter I use for my tea and since it makes my tea quickly, I don't end up forgetting it on the counter while it steeps a proper amount of time.

I especially love it for when I'm having a lot of people over and they all want different types of tea or coffee. It's super easy for them to make a cup of whatever for themselves and everyone gets exactly the drink they wanted.

I think that it's actually saved us money since we're only using the amount of coffee/tea we need to use for a cup and I'm not wasting a whole pot of either. The fact that it brews faster than my tea kettle or our french press is another bonus.

I wanted to hate it, but when compared to the baby poop colored houses next to it, I like the pink one more. I would have gone with a color a little less pepto, but if it makes them happy...

How Bold Would You Go?

I have a nice stockpile of water so I would rather have the water go out then the power. It's cold where I live and having had the boiler break once, I know how quickly my home can turn cold. Waking up to a house that's in the teens is just not a fun experience and not something I'd want to repeat.

Does the MintPlus do the edges of the room last the way the first Mint did? I hated that the Mint would start over for the whole room without ever doing the edges if it got stuck on something and I had to move it.

I'm sure you could go back even further and say someone before Fine Doodles came up with the idea. Honestly, it's not that new of an idea. My MIL has an oil painting of my husband's art work and I have a giant painting of my son's drawing that we did 6 years ago now.

It's a neat company though (both of them) and I'm sure there's many more of them out there.

Even with Lowes/HD prices, those shelves aren't cheap (or I guess it depends on your definition of cheap). Mine were about $260 which isn't bad but not cheap either :)

I keep seeing posting on various AT posts about YHL doing (whatever the post is about) a while back... what's up with that?

The reddish color seems to go really well with the rest of the autumn colors that are in the space.

I turned the nursery off my master bedroom in to a walk in closet. I LOVE it. The closet's closet holds shoes and pants. The rest of the room has closet rods, art, and a dresser. I adore it.

And there are special coatings for windows to help with the fading of clothing.
