Definitely agree with comicbookheroine's choice of International entry - it was really so much better than the rest (IMHO) and such a great showcase of colour celebration.

Save Your Favorite Room For Color Palettes with Chip It! Chip It! by Sherwin-Williams

Even though this room's style is not at all my style, I find it to be very well-balanced, and proof of a great taste and a good eye for colour combinations.

- Always be covered even with a sheet during summer. And I always have to tuck the covers under my feet.
- Have some kind of dim lighting. Nothing too bright, just something to break the dark.
- A pillow thick enough and quite soft to keep my head & neck comfortable and large enough to be able to hug it partially.
- Little to no noise. I sleep light so any noise may wake me up and sometimes it's not easy to fall back to sleep again.

It seems to me there is a bug in this article with the new template: I get two sets of thumbnails and two "larger pics" both in FF and IE.

Just a comment on the "use a console as a desk too" idea:
some times consoles are higher than the average table/desk, which means that, unless you use a height-adjustable chair, it may become uncomfortable to work on a console for an extended period of time.

It probably ruins their original character/style, but how about painting the metal white and the wood in different bright colours like robin's egg blue, dark pink, pistacchio green etc?

The before/after effect is of course impressive because of the state of the room before. Overall a simple but nice renovation,

On a more generic note: what I see very often in before/after photos is the before room rather dark in very unflattering yellowish light and the after in bright, white, very flattering light - sometimes it's so intense that I suspect the after photo was processed...

I would also try something from the red palette like dark orange or coral red or light baby pink.

Otherwise a light gray and white. Preferably with a touch of yellow for extra colour.

I actually like better the new look! It sets itself apart from all the white background blogs and it did not make a difference readability/legibility-wise for me.

And when it comes to ads, I use Firefox and have the lovely Adblock Plus add-in installed, so no ad banners for me at all!!!

Great space! I love the colour palette and the layout - to me, it says masculine but not macho, tasteful but not pretentious, minimalistic but not monastic. And it surely take a strong will not to clutter!

I love macarons in general and Ladurée macarons in very particular!

And what's more, you can buy small "coffrets cadeaux" that come in very chic-cute pistache-coloured paper bags and very elegant sturdy boxes! I still have the dark blue box from 9 years ago where I keep my bijoux in. :-)

White spaces with "shaded", indirect light like this in the photos can be very soothing and cooling in summer; a true haven from the hot Mediterranean sun.

And the fact that the deco details are understated means that your eyes can rest because there is nothing "screaming" for your attention.

It is certainly not an all-year round "look", but it's perfect for a week of sea, sex and sun! :-)

I love your place too. Cozy, fun and unpretentious. The first materials were great but you certainly did a wonderful job with them.

1 for raw tomatoes and celery. Especially celery - in any form, in any way, even if it's dried and added in a spice combo I always pick up the smell.

I also do not like pears. It's both the texture and the taste.

And also I absolutely love sweets, I hate alcohol in sweets. The only desert in which I can tolerate alcohol is tiramisu and that's when it's on very low quantity.

Very cute garden. I love Chihuly too. It would be great if one could have a small pond with some Chihuly pieces floating on it!!!

@jacksonlalonde. I was in Frankfurt, Germany last week and I went to this shop called Xenos that has cheap home decor stuff; they had these plastic, tile-like, adhesive squares in several patterns (mostly black and white or white and navy blue) that are meant to be used as labels over ugly tiles!

This is the site http://www.xenos.de/ and this is their on-line catalogue http://xenos.de.orcbladerfolder.nl/Main_admin.php?hashcode=bfd33d01740307ad98faff310de9d3b3 but unfortunately I do not see the tile-labels anywhere. Maybe they are not the only ones carrying this stuff. Or maybe you or a friend can go to Germany and do some home shopping!

I am not at all a fan of yellow/orange shades but your place makes me question my taste! Great colour combination, clean lines - the result is one of my favourites in the contest. And you seem to fit perfectly in it. Thumbs up!
