Hmm, this might be quite tough, however i will give it my best to hopefully come up with something good.

I think the house would definately got much brighter if you were to paint it with really bright colour (off white maybe).
In front of the house you could add some nice big leaf flowerd/trees - i saw one with amazing twisted roots i thinks it's called 'PARMIRA' - not 100% sure. Look to add some contemporary front doors with opaque side glass panels.

And for the final touch I would definately add some halogen lights, hidden between big leafs of flowers droping preety amazing shadows on that brightly painted wall with your new front doors.

I am sure that you will come up with something great.
