I was petrified someone was going to totally ruin that beautifully simple chair. And while they didn't ruin it, I do prefer the before.

I think living responsibly and mindfully is what's important. Yes, we can all change and be incredibly drastic in the way we live, or we can just stop adhering to practices that are obviously wasteful and neglectful of those around us, like everyone should probably start recycling, composting, riding a bike more often, eating less meat, and buying less "new" items, but not everyone can turn their carbon footprints to zero.

Also, I really enjoy traveling, and until the States has a viable high-speed train system, air travel is all I have.

I do not even care if chevron is plastered all over this website. I love chevron stripes, and that pendant lamp is perfect.

MIT students do CRAZY things to their dorm rooms, like floating living rooms or incredible light displays. I don't see where the manage to find the time, but I think they keep those rooms for awhile.

Maybe i'm just saying this because it's not quite my style, but I think I may prefer the before. I'm not sure about leaving the details in the wood dark. It makes it look very "homemade antiquing." I think painting the frame completely would give it a really fresh look, but still retain the style of the furniture.

I used the Bon Ami powder on my old stove all the time. My roommates would always leave gunk everywhere: caked on oil, burnt on grime, stuck of food and grease. With ten minutes, Bon Ami powder and a sponge, I could get the stove even more clean than it was when I moved it. I love this stuff!

Things I hated about the laundromat were definitely the price—laundromats in Cambridge, MA are very expensive—having to lug my clothes there in the snow and ice, and the damage the industrial washers did. I did, however, enjoy the time I got to spend reading.

Now I have a nice eco-friendly and gentle washer/dryer, and I find it much more preferable. Maybe if there were laundry green laundromats that were exceptionally clean, I'd think about using one again, but for now, home is where laundry belongs.

Ikea's only 40 minutes away, and I love it. Usually I don't buy much or anything at all, but I'm planning on going tomorrow to buy an Expedit bookcase. They're perfect for record storage, and I can't beat the price.

If Anthropologie would price their items reasonably, I would be far more inclined to purchase them, but, as it stands right now, I'd rather hunt for the vintage and antique items their designs are based off of than waste my money.

The new space has a ton of light, which is great. And I agree with @rlmesq—less awkward, stenciled letters...

I mean, I'm not a fan of her attempt to be a country singer, but I had no clue people hated her so much. She seems like one of those celebs people sort of pass over lately, not actively abhor.

She probably wrote an OK cookbook, I mean, i won't buy it, but it's probably worthwhile to the fan base/group of people who like her.

This weekend was homemade pizza time! From-scratch herb crush, olive oil, asparagus, artichoke hearts, broccoli and mozzarella. Simple and delicious.

I love this! I am moving back to Houston over to summer and am looking for a space like this, so I'm glad to know they exist! Thinking about scouring Heights garage apartments gives me nightmares (though a lot are cute).

I actually prefer the "before;" however, I do see the merit in the style of the "after" photo, it's just not mine.

This cart is definitely pretty, and I can see the advantages of it compared to a regular wheelbarrow (more space, flat bed is great for carting plants, firewood, etc), but these can be very difficult to move around.

Like @rapidtransitman said, the center of balance is off, so I guess if you want to do any hauling, you won't actually be able to put a ton of weight in the cart unless you are very, very strong and not easily annoyed by cumbersom objects.
