Initially I liked my amish friendship bread. I tried pistachio pudding and vanilla pudding with it and both turned out well, but then I forgot to mush the bag and add the flour and sugar and stuff, so I used it all up in one batch (which didn't turn out so well). I agree with others that it is fun for a while, but then adding the flour and maintaining the batch gets tiresome. If someone has a recipe without using the pudding mix I'd be interested to hear about it.

2T mentioned it above...but it poses a good question. For those of us that have cabinets above our fridges, do you use just the cabinet and have nothing in front on top of the fridge? or do you use the top of the fridge and not use the cabinet? or do you use both and then have to take items off the the top of the fridge every time you want to get to the cabinet? Does anyone have a way of using both without having the hassle of laboriously cleaning off the top of the fridge item by item? (Or am I dreaming?)

A friend of mine gave me some of these and I've found they steam things great! Every time the veggies came out perfectly. There are instructions on the bag as to how much to put in and how much time to zap 'em. If you follow the instructions, it will steam your veggies in no time! (My veggies have never been over or undercooked.)

The brocolli pasta dish on the top of this page looks delicious--is this one of the dishes listed below?

I'd love to make it if I could figure out which one it is.

I love the Simply in Season cookbook! It's great to use when we get in all of our seasonal CSA farm produce and wonder what we will make with all of it! Highly recommended!

You could buy this, or you could just unplug the appliances and items with powercords until you want to use them again and then plug them in when you are ready to use them--probably a much cheaper solution....

Advent calendars was something I used to look forward to as a child! The one above looks like something that would be great with young children, but we started advent calendar making when I was about 6 years old.

Every year we would save all the Christmas/Holiday cards we received, cutting out our favorite images. Next, my mother and I would arrange them on a tabletop and find a piece of tag board or other heavy paper and we would cut "doors" and "windows" in for all the days in the month. Next we would paste the images cut from the cards behind it. Preparing this right after Christmas and saving it until next Christmas allowed us to be surprised each day of the month the following year! Not only was it fun to open but it was great time spent with mom and a good way to recycle all those pretty Christmas card images.
