I think I am in the minority but I don't like headnotes. That there are few / no headnotes in old cookbooks is something I cherish. I like the simplicity of a recipe presented without fuss.

We just got an 18v Ryobi hedge trimmer. Works great, fast battery charge and it lasted for a whole detailed trimming of our very bushy yard. Makes art where loppers fail.

Cold oatmeal soaked overnight in milk and frozen bllueberries or cherries with a little sugar and cinnamon if you like. The fruit juice seeps into the oatmeal. Delicious!

Laughing cow was a savior when I was in the Peace Corps in Africa. It has a long shelf life and local dairy was risky at best so this was the only dairy I had for months and months. It was such a small but amazing pleasure and now brings me back to to that experience every time I have it!

I love this wood paneling! It is gorgeous! Is the wood pine with a dark stain or something? What type of dark stain did you use? We have a whole family room with unfinished pine walls in our new house and I'd love to make it this color.

I actually like the 'no more cities' since Seattle wasn't one of them. And I think the site looks cleaner and less junky. The junky part always sort of amazed me because your are not about that!

What I still don't like is the narrow column that stuff all your posts in. What not make it a little wider and more reader friendly? There's loads of white space on the left of the page and you could use half of it without make it seem more cluttered and still have enough white space. I think you could do better overall but thanks for the effort!

What! No Demeyere pots or pans? Though they have a hefty price tag, these are a cook's dream come true.

What, no one has mentioned denture cleaner? Yes, denture cleaner is a favorite of mine. This stuff is AWESOME at cleaning the red stains off of wine glasses and the coffee residue at the bottom of the stainless steel pot that you can't get to.

Depends on the dog. Our boxer, now 11.5 years old, gets up in the morning AFTER we do! When she was 6 months old, she'd wait for us to get up. But she's like us - a little different!

My favorite solution? Denture cleaner. It works like a charm for pulling out odors, grit, red wine stains and other annoying hard to clean bits of stainless steal, glass, etc. Buy cheap generic denture cleaner tablets, add 2 for a 16 oz cup, add water and let soak over night. Rinse well. Enjoy a fresh cup of tea.

Lovely home! We lived in Dallas for two years (2007-09) just north of Lakewood. I had SUCH a great time scouring craiglist there.....it's a rich place for seconding.
