luckily, everything stays really dry under the decks. the tables can get a bit dusty...sometimes the rugs get a little wet. but it's ok!!!

well, i didn't build the actual roof or porch. it was here when i rented, but i believe it is just tin roofing. or to find at home depot as :Gauge Galvanized Corrugated Roofing Panel. i love the look of it! best of luck!

and the string lights were bought at target. i am not sure what the length is, but they were a decent length, anyhow! i believe they are a seasonal product. we bought some online recently, but they were plastic and not glass. the glass looks better!

thanks everyone for the comments! i will try and answer some questions...

rosygirl- the chandelier is plastic crystal...not sure it will take paint very well. it looks better in person and actually like it the way it is! and area rugs to me just end up being a mess. i prefer the simplicity and then i don't need to vacuum!

tarqata: those pieces above the orange dresser are not mine. they are vintage metal wall hangings.

vintagetramp- thank you so much! i have some stuff for sale on my etsy shop:http://www.etsy.com/shop/anneroc. i have not really done much with a lot of yet. any suggetsions would be great!

shannon ashley: i got that piece from a store here in LA called thisisnotikea.com

alecandra_b: those canisters were from a line orla keily did for target sometime last year. it sold out pretty fast, but was lucky to find some in rural missouri. i would try ebay!

victoria in DC: no, the counter tops are tile that have been painted a number of times.

peggy: i don't really know much about the floors to be honest. i am assuming they pulled pulled up the carpet and put a varnish on the concrete that was under??? they are not hard to clean, a bit easier than hardwood actually. and i notice it gets just as dusty as hardwood. i have cats so things get dusty quickly no matter where i live. they do not smell funny either. i think it probably absorbs less than hardwood...especially with animals. and thank you so much for the encouragement to continue painting! those are my paintings in the bedroom. i do not have a website yet...but i do sell some small things on the etsy store i posted earlier. i am working on combining all my art onto one website.

thanks again everyone! very encouraging!!!
