I just have to say that although these windows appear to be in a ruinous condition with a little work they could be very functional and would be much better than any new replacement window.

Old windows are made with old growth wood which cannot be found now. Simple repair to the wood through consolidation chemicals and then reglazing the windows could have made these windows last another 100 years.

I just wanted to point out that these windows are not bad and that the window replacement companies out there are there to sell just that - window replacements - wherein you must continue to REPLACE them. Old windows can be repaired and will last much longer. This is one of the best efforts towards GREEN energy out there.

It's great that someone has picked them up to be used for another project and will not just go to the landfill.
