I, too, prefer the shutters. They add a bit of architectural detail and are much nicer than the routed cabinet doors. The backsplash tiles are quite nice. The window film cuts out all of the view and much of the natural light; it looks like a faux window in a basement apartment. It makes me think there is a flourescent light hanging out behind it. I work at a federal office. This is one of the only design sites that isn't blocked by our servers. I don't want to see AT blocked; my lunch break wouldn't be nearly as much fun :( Why Does My Partner Watch Porn? Answers to all the questions you've ever wanted to ask about your relationships |

I always hang to a 60" centerline. I can't find the post right now, but I believe this is what AT recommends. I think the gallery standard is 57", but some people find 62" works for them. How To: Create a Gallery Wall |

I'm currently reworking "inherited" built-ins -- we had to strip out 1940s/50s orange shellacked knotty pine ones. Funny thing is, our concept is a combination of the before and after shown here: white cabinets and shelving, yellow walls, and dark wood floor. The cabinets and shelving will have clean simple lines. We'll see how it turns out. Before & After: A Granny Office Goes Modern |

I agree, LEEPERT and GINNIELIZ. My house looked like this as well when I photographed it for the sales flyer. All of the clutter was temporarily moved to a different room and then reshuffled :) Ultra Organized Living Rooms from Our House Tours |

This just sent my architect brain into overdrive...and I haven't even finished my coffee yet. I prefer the Circle Playhouse and the Dacha with rounded shapes/curves. The Wedge looks a bit generic IMO. Puzzle Playhouse Modern Playhouse |
