I LOVE this. The lighting is perfect with the exposed brick - I love the dining area - I REEEAALLLYYY love the bag hangy things and the magazine rack in the bathroom. So perfect. Whenever I see good design, it's something like "Wow, I totally would have thought of that if they gave me a little bit more time." And let's be honest - I would have never thought of it, but I'm just saying. Good design makes me jealous. I don't necessarily know exactly what it is about design that makes it good, but I think that for me, it needs to communicate the concept clearly and be functional while being clever and something I haven't seen before. I love it! Dearmisha, here's my take on it: This is a to-do list. Let's be real, there's a lot of dollars represented in that cut-out, and as a fresh-out-of-college, first-time-homeowner who likes to make to-do lists, I will get the cut-out because the chairs are all really beautifully designed, and then once I've "made it," I'll have them all checked off and life size, in person, in my own possession. Seriously, I second the #1 cute/pricey post. I won't copy it, but I will make something similar. The best thing about moms is that they usually appreciate home-made better than store-bought. This is really hard, because I love grey any bright color. Grey red is classic and really great. Probably my favorite. HOWEVER ... Grey Yellow is also really great, but I don't know how it would look with the walnut ... Grey Turquoise would probably be off the hook. ACTUALLY, I would paint them turquoise and then have red vases and things on the table. That would be my favorite thing ever. Aagghh I miss Chicago. I lived in the Lakeview area and I loved it. Super convenient to public transportation, close to the Lake, close to Wrigley Field, tons of cute shops and cafes scattered around. Lincoln Park is also really nice - some REALLY fantastic architecture. If you know where you're working, I'd recommend checking convenient L trips - Lincoln Park is convenient to the Brown Line, but it would take forever to go north on the Red Line, etc. Goodbye Silverlake â€” Similar Neighborhood in Chicago? I feel like I'd be tempted to spend so much more for food and entertainment, since I wouldn't want to be in there for longer than my 6 (ok, 10) hours of sleep per night. Now that I'm thinking about it ... when I was broke and in college, I think this would be an alright option. Beats the $900 per month on a studio that I used solely for sleep.
