I do the same for the more 'fragile' books, including some nice vintage childrens books we have. I store these books on the top shelf (out of reach) and read these to my 3 year old in the evening.

All his other books are on the bottom shelves of our book case, so he can read those any time. It works well, and keeps those top shelf ones more special (so he's more careful with them).

The no-helmet days are gone for kids in Europe, or at least in Belgium. In our city, every kid gets a free bike helmet when they turn 3, and the schools really stress that all kids should wear helmets.

One thing to keep in mind is that all these accessories are not good for kids with dust mite allergies.

We have a flexa bed for my son (and like it) but have not bought any of the nice play curtains etc because of this.

I've used books, handpuppets, playdough cookiecutters, matchbox type cars for these kinds of presents.

Oh, this would be such a great 'sinterklaas' present for my sister and her toddler in the US ... .

Tummy Tubs are very popular in Belgium. They are not really intended to save storage space or water (although they do), but are said to give babies a more 'womb-like' bath experience, avoiding the position of lying on their back, stretched out in the water, which they often hate, especially in the beginning).
Now my son is a bit older, we've started using a the large size Tubtrug as a tummy tub. I really like this idea, found it in a blog somewhere.
Tubtrugs info here: http://www.tubtrugs.com

My 2 year old loves his tubtrugs bath, he can sit up almost up to his chin in the water, and since it's flexible, he can make it bend/fold, he turn around etc.
It's also great to take on vacation. You can use it as a storage bin in the car, and use it as a bath if the vacation appt only has a shower.
