one thing to note is that the application of spackle in the video is totally wrong. The way to do it properly is to leave a certain amount above/beyond the area you are patching, let it dry and then sand it down before painting. Otherwise the spackle will shrink back inside in the hole as it dries and you'll be left with indentations in your wall.

I bought a prairie style console table from RH about 10 years ago that was very well made. I got the same style armoir from Walter E. Smyth for about $300 less, however, and haven't shopped their since.

I still get their catalogs but all I can do is say 'WTF ?'

yeah ... the photos definitely don't look right. I don't see an Viking or Miele appliances, either.

My biggest "win" was putting in the biggest single-bowl sink I could fit in the cabinet. Dual bowls are never big enough for anything !!

I don't see anything remarkable about this place unless you're going by square footage, the probably $100k for the custom-this, custom-that furnishings and the fact that this house probably goes for $2-3m in Lake Forest.

It's OK ... they have supplies and cheap glassware but not much else.

The store on Elston was Edward Don, which was great. Too bad it closed a few years ago.

NW Cutlery is a good bet nowadays.
