Yeah Glendale! That's where I first lived when I moved out to L.A. Although my apartment was nowhere near this cute! It was 900 sq ft, but only 1 bedroom, and just a boring, plain, white box. I wish I had discovered Apartment Therapy before I moved out!!

I'm sorry, but as much as I love my dogs, spending that much on a dog bed is ludicrous to me. I'll stick with the $50 and under offerings at Petsmart...

Gorgeous colors! Love love love.

My husband and I have a similar issue - he likes lots of neutral colors (boring!!) and I love lots of bright, bold colors.

So...we stick with a fairly neutral color palette on large things (like the walls, furniture, etc.) and I add smaller punches of color in items like side chairs, cushions, pillows, rugs, etc.

That way we're both happy!

A couple lamps can make such a big difference! It makes it feel more like a home office than a work office. And of course a few picture frames are nice to make it feel more homey as well.

We gave up our drip coffee maker because of the worries of BPA (or other toxins) leaching from the plastic - it is being exposed to very hot water and steam, after all. We certainly couldn't find an affordable drip coffee maker that didn't contain plastic on the inside. So we went to a (glass) French Press.

Like some other reviewers, I also get up very early for my commute (4:45am!). But I just make my coffee the night before and reheat it in the morning - not ideal, but it works!

Wow wow wow! My husband rented a converted garage ("back guest house" was the euphemism) when he first moved to Los Angeles after school - I wish it could have been half as nice as this one!!

One of my favorite websites for getting info on a neighborhood is http://www.walkscore.com/. It tells you how walkable an address/neighborhood is (which is very important to me) and also tells you what businesses are closest.
