Please pput the power strip in a well ventilated spot, rather than in a drawer! This is a fire hazard. Talk to your local fire department if you don't trust my opinion. Be well.

Two words: drop cloths. They are cheap alternatives to Resto Hardware's belgian linen panels.

I think it's the casters on the feet that make it special. Find something similar on craigslist and put casters on it!

@tigressa, the picture is from Emily Henderson's show (or perhaps from her blog), Secrets of a Stylist on HGTV. The home belongs to Joy of the eponymously named blog Oh Joy! (and the wallpaper is her design).

And with this, I have proven to myself that I spend entirely too much time on design blogs *sigh*

I am laughing as I read these posts about the beautiful "before" piece.

I rescued a poorly made maple dresser for $20 several years back and refinished it. I even completed it with antique drawer pulls, then something a bit more up to date years later from Anthroplogie. It reminds me of the nightstand "before." Nothing special about it, other than a fancy-cut bottom and lots of love put into it by the person who restored it (in my case, me... in the case of the controversial "before," Dan.)

I say job well done in making something kind of ordinary into something special and useful. I also say commenters at AT will complain about *anything*.

While the smaller Ribbas are a cheap decorating trick (and one I adore), the larger ones are nothing short of a fiasco. Stick to the glass-fronted Ribbas, and buy larger poster frames elsewhere. The RE Style line at Target is pretty good.

Great job of DIY while feeling fresh, current and not the least bit kitschy.

If you're set on using the table in its current position, an area rug that encompasses the seating area would help to anchor everything together a bit more. I think the table would look lovely underneath the three pictures on the wall.

I'd prefer a glossy black to white for the table's finish, personally. I don't think you can go wrong, though. Maybe you can consider a vibrant color as well. Good luck and have fun!
