The ex came with a dog and while we were together we adopted a cat. When he moved out and away, states away, the pets stayed with me. I knew he missed his dog, but I also knew he worked long hours in a dense city with little room for a proper dog-life. In the end, I allowed him to make the decision and we thought it best the cat would be his bud and the dog would stay with me. All lives are happy now and though I don't see the cat (whom I very much miss, goofy guy), I know it all worked out for the best. Part-Time Pets: Would You Have Joint Custody? |

Depends. My bed is lofted pretty high and my dog has short legs. I like this because it's my discretion whether or not he's in there. I'd say 2-3 times a week I hoist his potato sack body into the bed to cuddle. It's not too bad. When he was able to get up on the bed all the time I kind of had a fit because he has quite the overbite and would drool everywhere, and the shedding, and the oily labrador coat would turn my sheets shiny. Otherwise he sleeps either in his dog beg or on the couch which I cover in a lovely tapstry like cover for easy washing. Reader Roundup: Pets in Your Bed? |

Wow. This kitchen looks terrifyingly similar to my own. In fact, I had to do a double take and rethink, "Did I do an article in apartmenttherapy?" How to Add Storage in a Small Kitchen | Apartment Therapy Chicago |
