Whenever I put sauce on noodles (or other pasta) it magically disappears overnight, leaving a dry noodle to eat the next day. I'm not sure if it's getting absorbed or what, but I'm always disappointed by the way a dish that's creamy when hot changes so dramatically. I did when I moved across the country. The place was tiny and run-down, but inexpensive. Somehow I think any house with a great garden like you describe has to be nice. Moving Into A New Home, Sight-Unseen: Have You? Would You? |

This was incredibly delicious!! I served it over quinoa instead of in a pita b/c I wanted something more filling. It was equally good eaten cold for lunch the next day. This recipe is a keeper! Lunch Recipe: Yogurt-Marinated Chicken & Creamy Greek SauceRecipes from The Kitchn |

I pretty much avoid any group over 4 because I'm an introvert and I get left out in large groups. Funny though as a leftie I have never minded the elbow thing; it's always the rightie bumping into me who complains. Infographic for Introverts: Choosing the Right Seat at a Dinner Party |

This is fairly basic, but tasty: add some chicken and barbeque sauce to macaroni and cheese. You can add fresh spinach, too, to balance it w/ some veggies. What Can I Do with Leftover BBQ Sauce? Good Questions |

I've started buying box wine recently. I guess I must be hip. I like that you can buy nice-tasting, quality wines and save lot of money and bottles in the process. Is Boxed Wine the Next Hipster Fad? |

This makes me SO sad; I would so love to give my rental some TLC but nothing can overcome the overwhelming bad taste of my housemate, who lived here long before me and had already "decorated" before I arrived. Sometimes I daydream about throwing out every last eyesore. Until then, there's always Pinterest. YOLO: The Renter's Edition |

I'm not a parent, but I've read that children respond to simpler-tasting foods because, like their brains or any other part of their bodies, their palates go through developmental stages. Make Mongers of the Kids: My Picks to Help Introduce Children to Fine Cheese The Cheesemonger |

Oh, these are so much fun to read! I agree w/ many such as the word art (barf), and HGTV's granite-loving zombies, but I'll add that I also hate jewelry hung on the wall (you don't live in a store). What's Your Design Pet Peeve? |

I think I'll have a grown-up home when I can stop living with roommates in order to pay the rent, and replace my "make-do" furniture with furniture I've actually chosen. It does add up to a more permanent sense of home and reaching one of those milestones. Do You Live In A Grownup House? |

Oh dear. Never has substituting a few ingredients led me so far astray! I subbed chevre for mascarpone, pine nuts for hazelnuts, and ramps for spinach. The combination resulted in a bitter, harsh, sadly almost inedible flavor. What a shame. Recipe: Spaghetti with Mascarpone, Meyer Lemon, Spinach, and Hazelnuts |

It seems from many of these comments as well as my own experience that it's about the car culture / city design where you live. Naturally in cities many people don't drive, so it becomes a matter of buying only what you can carry & tote home on foot, or bicycle. This is the case for me; although my city is very small, the grocery & market options are plentiful, and I do almost all of my shopping on foot, or tag along with a friend who has a car for a bigger stock-up. Still I find it tiring to shop daily, and prefer a weekly schedule. Shop Like a Parisian Weekend Meditation |
