For our MacLaren Volo, a scrub down in the bath tub with dish detergent and a sponge works well.

I am really concerned that AT posted this as something for parents to use when bringing babies home from the hospital. To prevent suffocation, accidents and SIDS, you need to keep very little ones away from soft bedding and out of adult beds for sleeping. The safest place for a new baby is a crib with fitted sheet only - there are also co sleepers that are made to keep children safely separate from parents' beds if you want to go that route.

I think it makes a huge difference whether you are breast feeding and/or healing from a c-section. Breast feeding babies need to be fed every two hours (no sleep for mom) and a c-section is major surgery (you can barely stand up straight, much less clean the house). I was dealing with both and even in the hospital, the difference in energy and capacity to handle visitors was huge.

We use the shower for a drying rack for items we have to hand wash to prevent staining, given our lack of laundry facilities. This is new since the birth of our baby... somehow Stain Stick does not do the trick for our little one's messiest activities and "gentle" detergents meant for infants are very weak.

A twin is fine for a priest or a guest room only.

Beige goes with almost everything, so look at any accessories you already own (throw pillows, art, vases, table cloths, lamps, etc.) to identify accent colors for each room. Then add some white or cream to lighten things up.

Since you've already invested in dark brown - a dark brown, beige, blue and cream color scheme could work, for example.

Furniture and accessories can add a lot of color to a room if you don't have enough cash to paint and buy furniture at once.

Love this home - but want to know how C&C keep the whites so white! Maybe that is part of the "do children really live here?" mystique...?
