Beautiful cat, looks like a seal point Birman. I used to have one that looked just like that. He was the most laid back, lovable cat I've ever had.

I can't believe I'm about to say this but I LOVE that purple kitchen. Never in a million years would I have thought a purple kitchen could look classy but that one pulls it off so well.

I'm not a jewelry person but I love the painted dresser!

I also love the first one but have to admit, it's as much (if not more) about the wide plank boards than the color.

Good grief, will the "Magic Erasers are toxic" rumors NEVER go away?? From the NIH website "This product is considered to be non-toxic". Don't EAT the eraser & you'll be fine.

I don't know about anybody else but when using Magic Erasers, I always wipe afterwards with a clean wet rag to remove any leftover residue.

Beautiful! Also thrilled to see that the original woodwork was left alone rather than painted! I'd love to have a home with that kind of woodwork.

I'm cheap & unimaginative so I just use one of those clear plastic holders with suction cups that stick to the walls of my shower. It works, that's all I needed.

I've been slightly obsessed with copper for quite a few years now. Like Amanda, I'm definitely drawn more towards vintage. (Apparently we're not alone, when I clicked on the link for the spice rack, sold today.) But if someone wanted to buy me those chairs from Anthropologie, I wouldn't say no!

Growing up it was always a real tree & the trimmed branches & stump went into the fireplace & oh, how I loved the smell. Much older & on my own, after several years of trees being toppled by cats (water & smashed glass ornaments everywhere - several times) and the addition of a baby, I switched to an artificial tree. I thought it would be a temporary solution for a few years, until both baby & cats were older. 13 years later & I'm still using the same tree. It paid for itself in 2 years, but I still miss the smell of a live tree.

When I was very little, my grandparents had a clawfoot tub in their apt. To me, it was like a pool party in the bathroon every time I took a bath while visiting them. Some day before I die, I want to own a clawfoot tub. My pool party days may be over, but the thought of luxuriating in such a tub seems decadent after having lived with basic builders fiberglass tubs for too many years.

That first one - no, just no!

My mother also subscribed to "every room needs a touch of red". But when I think back to the rooms I grew up in, I don't remember the red in most rooms so it must have been very subtle.

Vinegar by itself will usually take care of it. But if you need more abrasion, try salt (like already mentioned) or rice instead of sand, then it can be flushed down the garbage disposal.

Tops of picture frames, top of fridge & kitchen cabinets (grease dust = ewwww), behind & under washer & dryer if you have them. The dryer vent & screen especially need to be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent lint fires. I'm only 5'4" so anything above my height doesn't get cleaned nearly as often as it should.

I've never roasted a chicken before either. What better way to lose my chicken roasting virginity. Thanks for the hilarious post! The only thing I see as obscene is the price of the Staub Vertical Roaster. Seriously?
