I have the See and Sew book, and it's wonderful! I purchased it as a way to help me teach my Pre-schooler to sew, but I found it useful for me as well. I had no idea idea the proper way to sew on a button, and I like that she gives some explanations. Thanks for sharing!

I haven't read this particular book out loud, but I do verbally edit some books because of concepts. Most of them will make their way to the donate pile, but if one is a kid's favorite, then I'll just repeat the edit. Eventually the book will be cycled out and then donated.

I received a bag of Nellie's at a baby shower, and it's been great! I have a sensitive nose, and I can't handle many of the regular cleaners out there. I'd been using 7th Generation up until that point (and my husband still does), but I like a little scoop of Nellie's - it doesn't take much, but I'm really happy with how my (and my daughter's) clothes turn out. I'm going to keep an eye out for the tin though - that looks pretty cool!

Shoutout to Threadless! I just ordered some baby shirts from Threadless and I noticed the same thing this morning - of all the designs that were voted in, and then chosen for children's shirts, the giraffe was the most featured animal. And that 'Put a Bird on it' sketch is hilarious. :)

I like this idea for pictures for grandparents too...there's only so much space in a lot of the retirement apartments, and most of our family doesn't like clutter. *adds to Target list*

Thanks!

Berry, Berry Kix...I mourn your passing. I can't tell you how many illnesses you saw me through. I was kind of hoping you'd stick around for the pregnancies, but I see you had other plans.

Thanks for the inspiration! I'm still attempting to get off the ground with some photos in the family room (go figure because we have an amazing photographer), and I think this is the perfect place to start. Some of us are ready to burst out of the box and immediately show off a layered look, while others (like me) need time to layer things in. Thanks for the starting point!

We did the diaper genie with my sister, a diaper champ with my daughter, but eventually fell in step with the Dekor. I thought we could just get away with a trash can, but once you open the lid, it's an awful stench. My parents don't use one, but they keep their trash can in the garage where it doesn't smell. I like the double door system on the Dekor and hardly ever smell it unless it's full. Which is extra awesome right now since I'm all kinds of sick with my second pregnancy.

Love the high chair...we had two, one cheapo freebie and one more expensive and got rid of them both for this space saver. It's easy to clean, and has been to a wedding and several feasts. We just retired it this weekend, but we're hanging onto it because friends and family have babies and toddlers too.

@jenniferholle - that's brilliant! We took ours to a wedding, and we were the envy of all the parents. The reception had wooden high chairs, but they were on a different floor, and no one wanted to lug them up. Their loss because the little ones were running their parents ragged. Oh, except for ours who sat neatly in her IKEA high chair. :)

I love my Tessera baby book - it's perfect for me because I can simple add and remove any pages I want.

I keep it in her nursery and I update it every few months. In the mean time I put a sticky note on the kitchen counter, and when there's something cool going on, I jot it down with the date. After a while, I have a few sticky notes, so I stick them to the baby book to be transferred at a later date. So far so good.

For longer thoughts and ramblings, I keep a blog. I'll go in later and have it printed to a book to supplement her baby book, but for now it's a great way to be long-winded, especially since I can post from email.

Yep - anything airborn or air-related is hot right now - clouds, umbrellas, paper airplanes, hot air balloons, kites...I really like this trend, and I'm trying to work more of it in my kiddo's room.

I love home made pumpkin seeds! It took me a few years to perfect the process of salting and removing the slimy casing, but we have it down now, and when we make them, they don't last very long either. :)

We use a Case Logic album for all of our DVDs and CDs. They hold quite a bit and E can't get them out to play with. They also look good in our living room and no one suspects we have a ton of media hidden in them.

We also have gone through our CD colleciton and got rid of CDs we no longer like. For the ones we only like a few songs on, they go straight to the ipod. Full albums we enjoy are keepers.

Hope this helps!

While I co-slept with my daughter from 0-2 months and then again from 15-18 months, we used the Amer's Reach co-sleeper as a free-standing bassinet for her bed. We bought a crib, and it sits in her room and looks lovely, but all it does is act as a rack for my wet clothes. We also had a pack n play but that was a bit of a joke considering the top portion was only good for up to 15 lbs, and the play pen configure was noisy and uncomfortable (we heard every move she made in that thing).

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to buy the Arm's Reach full size co-sleeper and use it until you find a need to get something else. You may love it for three months, you may love it for two years.
