And I can't stress how good of a gift books are. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG.

Tell Us...the Best Gifts for Toddlers?

Those nifty invisible markers are on our Christmas list for our two and a half year old. The only downside is that the coloring books that the markers work on are kinda pricey ($4.99 for a pretty small amount of pages). BUT, for some reason my daughter has colored the same pages over and over again on the two we bought, and one of them was the one that included the markers, so it's worth it for us! I think it probably helps that she can use them without us having to say no too much. I mean, when you're two you pretty much hear that word WAY too much in your little life.

I would recommend the Mudpuppy magnetic shapes magnets. They made letters, numbers, fruits and vegatables, and farm animals. I have a two year old and we have the letters, numbers and fruits and veggies and she loves them all. We also have the Leap Frog fridge farm, which she liked more when she was younger, but still plays with from time to time.

They are pretty small. It's 3+ so the choking hazard is there. That being said, we have this for my 2 year old and she enjoys them. She puts them on the fridge and practices putting them in the pouch. Such a quality product. Well made and something we will keep for subsequent kids for sure.

@Visualizestacy Exactly.

Also, I thought I might share that my 2 year old has been with my mom for the entire week and I planned on getting in lots of uninterrupted cleaning time. Until I told myself: You can clean the house when she's here, but can you take a nap, watch a movie, read a book or just plain DO NOTHING when she's here? No, you cannot. She comes back Saturday and my husband and I plan on cleaning things up Friday after work.

Enjoy time together! Either with your significant other or your kiddos :)

To the posters commenting about seeing posts that are not related to design and should be in the ohdeedoh section of apartment therapy, I think when Apartment Therapy changed stuff up they explained that there would still be separate sections (although ohdeedoh is now called family). If you go to apartmenttherapy.com's "main" section it will show all posts from all sections. If you click on separate ones you will only see those posts related to that section and so forth. Just giving you guys a heads up so you don't have to see stuff you don't want to see.

Correct me if I'm wrong, AT!

I just think it's too much for a room that is supposed to promote sleep. But, for a playroom it'd be awesome. And, if chevron still floats your boat, then by all means, chevron it up.

We usually only put our cable on the "music choice" channels when our little is around. She likes oldies best, but sometimes it's fun to watch her dance to 80's or 90's hits we remember.

We also do occasional breakfast tv. If we do it's usually Dora, and we are usually watching it with her, talking about the colors and shapes, etc.

She is just so much more interested in pretend play with her stuffed animals, building things, and just PLAYING. Most of the time not even with toys. Her favorite thing right now is laying down on a blanket and having mom or dad drag her around like she's on a ride. She's a big artist too. Loves coloring, play-doh, painting, writing on her chalkboard wall or easel.

I know parents who's kids ranging in age from 1-3 can watch ENTIRE movies! There's no way she could do that. The longest I've ever seen her look at the tv screen was maybe 2 mintues straight? NO JOKE.

I think before a year, it's ridiculous, though.

Sell these at the shop I manage and I use one as well. Highly recommend them. Comfy, easy to clean and pretty affordable for the quality. Great highchairs for the price as well.

e someone has already adressed this but I'm at work and don't have the time to read every comment (<---kinda funny considering the topic), but it should also be noted that men STILL make more than women on average last time I checked. If someone has the time to look up info on that please do. It would be interesting to see the most recent numbers on that.!

Yep, saw this on Pinterest and it has worked marvelously. You can cut your own shape of Christmas tree and ornaments. It's a great inexpensive idea. And how cool is it that felt sticks to felt!? Ah, the small things in life.

I think your babe is probably just fine. I would also suggest the thermometer. We actually got a baby monitor with one built in. Definitely provided us with peace of mind.

We didn't carve pumpkins until a couple of days before Halloween. We've let ours only go for 4-5 days and when we threw it out this morning it was pretty gnarly. I can't imagine having it go for longer than a week! Yuck.

I usually put up our faux Christmas tree and lights at the beginning of the month of December just because it gets me in the spirit. And my great grandmother was stickler about leaving her lights up until New Years because she swore it brought good luck (probably doesn't) so in her honor I usually leave em up.

I'd just like to know more about that bunting, because I am a sucker for a cute bunting. It looks like it's tied on securely, rather than loosely? Would love more details. But, I mean, yeah, definitely would have to be relocated pretty soon regardless.
