Yes. I went several years with mine unplugged. Only turned it on recently because I had meat and cold drinks. It just takes more planning and thoughtful approach to buying and eating to go without a refrigerator. I have been using a small induction cooktop for 2-1/2 years and I love it. It hits more quickly than electric. I believe you are okay with the French cookware.
