For each of my girls, I posted a photo each day for the first year (often pre-loaded a handful at a time) on a private blog (available to friends and family). For the following Christmas, I make a "best of" the first year book and choose some of my favorite photos (only about 30 photos out of 365!). I make books for us and the grandparents, and they are always a hit. I LOVE LOVE flipping through them and do all the time. Although I have scores of photos on my blog and computer, there's something about a tangible book that makes such a difference.

P.S. I have used Shutterfly and Picaboo. I REALLY liked Picaboo - easy to use and always have great coupon codes.

You don't! :) We're too paranoid living on a massive fault line that's bound to give any day. We hang only lightweight things above our beds (embroidery hoops above the crib). Not a solution for hanging framed art, but a suggestion? :)

Perhaps a better solution for US would be to MOVE. :)

Our 18 month old daughter is over the moon about her kitchen. I think it totally depends on the child, but our little girl spends good amounts of times each day cooking up soup and other fabulous concoctions for Mommy. In my opinion, two is definitely not too young!

For my daughter, Annabelle, I created a (private) blog for family and friends called The Daily Annabelle. I posted a photo of her every day for her first 365 days. Of course, many of these photos were taken on the same day, and I often pre-loaded photos, but it shows a general progression of her growth. And it's forever frozen in cyber space - I'd be lying if I said I didn't periodically get on and just scroll through those pictures of my tiny baby.

For Christmas, I'm making a book of the photos - for us and her grandparents.

And now I'm also considering the poster idea!

I had my first baby almost nine months ago. I had always planned on breastfeeding, but when she arrived, my milk did not. She would latch on, but her efforts were futile. My milk supply was extremely low, something I didn't expect, and it actually took the aid of a pump to even get the milk to come in. I'd pump several times a day, getting only a few ounces for hours of pumping. It was a total pain and my life was measured by pumping times, but I did it until I essentially ran out because I wanted to be able to give her as much of my milk as I could.

Of course, I supplemented with formula, and she is now exclusively formula fed (and happy - and healthy!), but for those that need it, the pump can be a lifesaver. Without the aid of a pump, she would likely have never had any of my milk.

My experience also made me very open to all feeding options. I think there is a lot of judgment passed on those who don't breastfeed. What some people don't take into account is that sometimes it simply physically doesn't work. Breast, pump, formula: do what works for you and your baby.
