Reading a lot of haters on this thread! Wow! Decorating is an art form, and art is subjective. We are all welcome to our opinions, but l do my best to keep in mind that people are putting their creations out in the public eye and need support!

Bravo! I was shaking my head when I saw the post (What! Isn't that vintage?!?!), but you did a really nice job and it has a far more elegant feel. If that is what the objective was... well done.

P.S. I like the dreamcatcher. So there.

Simply amazing. *golf clap*

Now, to comment on the ACTUAL POST, this kit looks wonderful! I have been coveting some gold rimmed agate coasters, but haven't been able to swallow the price. No longer a problem!
Thanks Kimber!

I had something similar in a rental unit once and I set it up as an alter. It was a perfect look for the niche and helped me express my style in a way that was meaningful to both myself and my guests. Considering your decor style, it may work perfectly.

Good luck!

Every Monday is my "phone and internet free" day. I change my voicemail to say that I'll be away from my phone and sit back and enjoy the calm. There is nothing that can't be put off for one whole day, and I often feel like it's an extended weekend even while at work.
It's made Monday a little less manic :)

I prey New York puts in new bike lanes. A very dear friend Jasmine Huron was killed last summer when the driver of a parked car opened their door without caution. She hit the door and was consequently hit by a bus.

Bike lanes save lives. A helmet is no match for a vehicle.

Sad news, most permanent marker can NOT be painted over. It will seep through even primer so please, please, please do a test run on an inconspicuous spot before attempting.

Otherwise, bravo! It looks lovely!

My suggestion, get rid of it if you don't want/have a use for it. You'll have less guilt by telling them that although thoughtful, you just didn't have the space to hold onto it so you donated it to someone who was in need. The guilt is usually more of a burden than the truth. If they want to get you things for your "future" home, suggest gift cards to a department store so that you can upgrade items that you use everyday. That way you can buy something that is top quality once and it will last you for years to come.

Orrrrr... break out your duster and keep that box clean ;)

Cat food. That was my killer on day one. Also, the plastic spout on my coconut milk. I'm not sure how to avoid either but I have decided to write the cat food company asking them to use more eco conscious packaging. He's celiac so changing his food is unfortunately not an option. I am also going to buy larger quantities so that I wont have to get the plastic bags as often.
Reduce. Bah.

Doesn't it use power to light up the indicator lights on the power strip? Isn't that counterproductive?

Brilliant design though :)

I don't think I understand either. I like the idea of stove to service and the aethstetics of the piece is simple and elegant... but isn't bamboo on a stovetop more energy efficient, both in production and electricity use? I do like the clean-up factor, but the rest is lost on me. For $20 I'll stick with bamboo thank you :)

I recently hosted a birthday party at my home and asked around for items that I didn't already own. I live alone, so I asked one friend to bring flatware, one to bring their plates, one a punch bowl... I managed to have 12 guests and the only garbage at the end of the night was the cake box... and that was recycled.
Yay for eco-loving friends.

I wake up to brewed coffee that was set on a timer the night before, I eat some breakfast and then sit down to write. After that I read a morning meditation, center myself for the day and get ready for work, etc. Since starting this routine in the morning I've had to set my alarm 30 minutes ahead of when I would normally get up and the pay off has been tenfold. Good luck!
