We have a small bathroom from the 1920s and we put a train car shelf, actually 2 shelves, from Restoration Hardware over the toilet. We store things in bins. It works great and looks vintage. Adding Storage to a Vintage Bathroom |

How sad. The original bathroom had so much potential. We have the exact same yellow tile with black border in one of our bathrooms with a very similar and beautiful floor. ( I love how it is hidden in the picture) To update our bathroom we installed a new sink, faucets, medicine cabinet, additional lighting and a new toilet and now have a modern but classic bathroom without completely gutting the bathroom and loosing all the original character. The completely redone bathroom will look dated in a just few years. Before & After: Bathroom Renovation by Frission Design Professional Project |

How about hanging a set of drapes to cover the entire wall behind the bed? Place the bed with headboard in front of the drapes. I have seen this done and it is very luxurious. Also, it eliminates drafts from the window on your head. How To Embrace Window Behind Bed? Good Question |

You can probably replace the white tile with blue tiles that match. Call B & W Tile in Gardena California and they should be able to help. They have a blue tile that looks very similar to your original tile. When Small Projects Turn … Very, Very Big |

I know you are asking about what color to paint the door, but how about stripping the paint and just staining and applying some poly. My wife and I have a 1928 Tudor in Atlanta and we did this and the door looks great. Just a thought. Color Suggestions for Tudor Revival Front Door? Good Questions |

Paint the walls a light teal color or 2 or 3 shades lighter than the tile and use white towels, shower curtain and bath mat. We have a yellow/black bathroom and a dark green/medium green bathroom and keeping it simple makes it look clean and retro/modern. How To Decorate Green Black Tiled Bathroom? The curved shower bar is great. So much more room at shoulder height and much less claustrophobic. We would never use a regular straight bar again. Shower Rods Roundup | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
