Yeah, I grew up in Oklahoma, so it was bizarrely comforting to hear tornado sirens. Felt like home. Luckily we are a duplex down, so we watched tv and had drinks on the sofa in our basement. You could hang some fabric screens on tracks from the ceiling just in front of the shelving units. The fireplace looks deep enough into the marble to avoid heat issues, and you have plenty of display space elsewhere on that hulking piece of furniture. We're considering using these in our IKEA Expedit shelves: http://www.instaoffice.com/X-Rack-File-25.DEFXR206.0.7.htm Using hanging files in the right color could (we're hoping) look pretty good against the black X.
