Thanks for all the compliments everyone! We weren't expecting this to be posted for another week so we're a bit unprepared, but I'll try to answer the questions I can as best as possible. Please keep in mind i'm not the designer, she is ;)

@KatHord: It's just another piece of stone that matches the one in the kitchen. It doesn't really hold it down though. There is usually adjustable legs on the underside of the appliance, it could be moving around a lot because those are not making contact with the ground.

@citipearl: You're gonna have to wait a couple years for that! :)

@terio: I feel you, I hate seeing those McMansions sprouting up everywhere. Luckily there is only one of them on our block.

@bodicegoddess: There isn't one. YET. But that's a great idea for a blog post! I can tell you from watching them being made it was easy, and they look even better in person.
