Help I saw a dreamcatcher!

I Love this kind of project have fun !!!!
I moved into a house that was a charmer little craftsmen in LA with a gorgeous yard, however the last people that had lived in it for only 20 years left behind, brown wall to wall shag carpeting stuck to the floor with beer and coke, torn cheap blinds, cottage cheese ceilings, all the windows were blocked or closed up permanently with paint, giant ceiling fans in every room Old wallpaper from the 40s in bad shape or 60's sears panelling covering the walls and a giant fireplace painted gloss dried blood red, and the back yard was a dust bowl.
It's just a real treasure underneath. I didnt have to rebuild anything. Most of it was cosmetic.

You have a pair of really lovely ladder back chairs with arms that I would love to steal. However I don't really understand the fence in the kitchen or what the purpose of the room that you are sitting in. I suppose a floor plan might have helped.

As an East coast person I agree with the love of California, the sense of light and the climate warms this cold soul. I do love all the stuff in the house and even the quirky house, however I find it a tad dyslexic with hard and pointy edges. It seems to be missing come kine of cohesion and warmth.

Glad you dint restore the original woodwork which can be so dark and oppressive to live in. The house looks great I wish my craftsmen had a second floor! The best thing about the houses are the windows ( and the details and the elegance) I consider mine a fishbowl.
re: the chairs, they look really good there, just re-glue them!!

Yup Looks good, However I cant see how the main counter ties in with the dinning room, unless they are two separate rooms and its not an island, and what are the cupboards underneath it? what are the materials that are under the wood?

After over 30 years of being on my own, or with a partner,, I learned the best filing system for me! I cannot see file folders, let alone see what is in them, or you are on your knees trying to find the right one. Last year I worked for Red Cross and they had a huge filing system that worked the best I have ever seen, and now use it my self, small version: big, two ring, filing books with the snap down bar on
the inside. Alphabetised, with a few manilla envelopes, holes punched. Every bill and important paper goes into it, some years I need two of these, if you are a big family maybe three. Even if I dont file for 6 months, it takes me a day to catch up. And so easy to find every thing always. At the end of the year, you get more file folders and set up for the next year. I no longer loose papers. I have an extra small one for guarantees or other ones that last for over a year.
Filing is really a boring detail.
