I pared down the people on my gift-giving list a few years ago. The people on it include those who gave birth to me, those I gave birth to, and anyone I'm spending Christmas day with. This year I'm happily adding those who married someone I gave birth to. I also minimize the decorating if I'm not going to be at my house on Christmas day. I used to literally make myself sick every year running around trying to get everything done.

I was dubious when I saw the before photo, but great job! You obviously have a better eye than I do.

I've always had good luck at JC Penney. Good selection, lots of sales. There's a 300 count Egyption cotton sheet that I keep buying and have been very happy with.

Hugglesthebear and chrisbean are right. This is very easy to duplicate. I found a mid-century modern dining room chair on the street, painted it approximately the same color as the Fox Point armchair (photo 1) and recovered the seat. The total cost was $36. The finish is beautiful. I get compliments on it everytime someone visits. I just did this last Spring so not sure about lasting, but I don't really care since it was only $36 and I'm not sure I want to live with that color more than a year or two anyway.

Get one of your own photographs printed onto canvas; many professional photography printers do this now. My local shop will print a 40" by 60" for $380. The bonus is that it is a very personal piece of artwork. Other than that I'd check secondhand furniture stores.

Funny. I just move from a 960 sq ft apartment. I never considered it small, but I suppose size is relative. BTW, my new place is 500 sq ft. I'm having a great time creatively finding storage.
