I have great views and when I first moved in my landlord hadn't put screens on the windows. I thought it was cool--until I came back from a weekend trip and found a pigeon in my bedroom and pigeon crap everywhere. (The windows had popped open due to Santa Anas.) Needless to say, I asked for screens immediately. He had a guy put in "black screens." The material is dark, rather than the traditional silvery aluminum wire. The result is screens that DON'T screw up the view. I vacuum my screens from the inside with the brush attachment to keep them clean. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles \| Window Screens: Yay or Nay? There is no such thing as "Huntington Gardens." (And btw, where would such gardens be found? In HUNTINGTON PARK perhaps?) Real Angelenos know the gardens are found on the grounds of the Huntington Library (and street and freeway signs use this same nomenclature), formally known as THE HUNTINGTON. Wow, looks just as bad in a room! No, make that worse. For godsakes take a picture of your own flatware and have this done at kinkos. It will look just as tacky but at least it will be cheaper. Wow, with the sofas set wide apart, the 60s institutional magazine rack, the recessed lighting, large corporate mirrors and the generic lucite tables, this looks like the waiting room of an infectious diseases specialist. The doctor will see you now! Where is the color? And is that really another little waiting area by the front door? I'm guessing the receptionist's desk is just around the corner.
